VIT Online MCA Eligibility Criteria

Students should have one of the following to be eligible for the Online MCA program:

• BCA/B.Sc (Computer Science/IT) or an equivalent degree with a minimum of 50% marks (45% marks for ST/SC).
• Bachelor's degree from a recognised university with a minimum mark of 50% (45% for SC/ST. The students have also studied Mathematics as a subject either at the 10+2 or graduation level.

Students enrolling in the program on this criterion will also be required to take and clear a compulsory bridge course named Foundations of Mathematics in addition to the MCA program.

VIT Online MCA Admission Process

​The VIT Online MCA admission process is entirely online. The students need to visit the official site to initiate admission. Here are the steps they need to follow:

• Step 1: To generate your DEB ID, you will generally have to go to the official DEB website. Find a registration or student registration page. Then enter your personal information, such as your name, date of birth, contact details, and education level. Once your successful submission and verification are processed, you will get your own unique DEB ID.
• Step 2: After obtaining your DEB ID, go to the institution's online application portal for the courses you have applied for enrollment. Complete the application form meticulously with all the information that is being requested. Following completion of the form, there will be a requirement to remit the applied amount as prescribed via the prevailing online payment methods.
• Step 3: If your application gets shortlisted, you shall receive an intimation of provisional selection. Your seat will need to be paid a non-refundable amount at the time of booking the same.
• Step 4:  You will be required to prepare all the documents that have been requested by the institution. You would most often be asked for your academic documents, certificates for degrees, identification proof, residence proof, passport-size photos, and some other documents required as per the institution.
• Step 5: Lastly, your application and supporting documents will go through a rigorous review process. The institution will subsequently publish the final selection list of selected candidates. VIT Online MCA Exam Pattern 

Participant evaluation involves a 30% internal assessment and a 70% end-term examination. A minimum overall score of 50% is required in each subject to pass. The Final Assessment Test will be offline, conducted at centres across India. Currently, there are 20 VIT centres, and this list will be expanded in the future.
