750+ in CUET: From Background Blur to Scorecard Shock

Last update: May 02, 2025

A 750+ in the CUET (Common University Entrance Test) scorecard is an academic dream for many. It’s a destination that begins with a blurry-eyed late-night study routine, sheer determination, and muted phones. To achieve these scores, distractions need to be replaced by discipline and sleep by strategy. To be a part of this reality, one must master the chosen domain subjects, percentile battles, and timing that allows the student to sail through all the questions.

This comprehensive blog covers the crucial stages of CUET Preparation, including preparation tips, exam day guidelines, and what is considered as a good CUET score.

The CUET Preparation Phase: A Phase of Dedication and Hard Work

The CUET 2025 examination is right around the corner (tentatively). As the day approaches, one must realise that relying solely on the NCERT textbooks will not help in fetching 100% scores. Over the years, competition is rapidly increasing, evident through the higher students to seat intake ratio. To sail through the examination and fetch the desirable marks, it is essential to devise a strategic plan and pair it with dedication, consistency, and hard work.

How to Prepare for CUET 2025?

To ace the exam, candidates must have a good domain subject knowledge. However, focusing on domain subjects is equally as important as preparing the miscellaneous sections such as language and general aptitude test. The preparation must be holistic enough to allow candidates to keep a goal of 100 percentile. To initiate the CUET Preparation, refer to the suggested pointers.

  • Know the CUET Syllabus: Candidates must have a good understanding of the CUET 2025 Syllabus. Each subject covers different topics and assesses the candidate’s foundational knowledge and concepts of the subject.
  • Understand the CUET 2025 Exam Pattern: Understand the CUET Exam Pattern which is divided into three sections, namely language, domain-specific subject, and general aptitude test. Each subject comprises 50 questions that must be answered within 60 minutes.
  • Analyse the Previous Year’s Papers: To examine the strengths and weaknesses, it is essential to analyse the previous year papers. CUET PYQs will give insights into the difficulty level of the exam, pattern of question framing, subject-wise weightage, and frequently repeated questions.
  • Create a structured Study Plan: Create a study plan that strategically distributes time to each subject and also keeps aside a portion for breaks and revision. A study plan should break down the syllabus into manageable chunks and set daily or weekly goals to check the progress.
  • Attempt Mock Tests: Mock tests are as significant as other preparation steps in the CUET journey. By practicing through mock tests, candidates can understand which areas seek immediate attention.
  • Work on speed and accuracy: With an effective preparation plan, involving mock tests, regular practice, and rigorous hard work, students can enhance their accuracy and speed over time.

CUET Exam Day: A Rollercoaster Ride

From 2025 onwards, NTA has switched to the Computer-Based mechanism to conduct the CUET examinations. To successfully pass through the security check-in at the exam centre and appear for the exam, NTA has laid out several guidelines. These guidelines specify candidates to adhere to the dress code norms, bring the required documents, and reach the centre at least 30 minutes before the designated time.

CUET Exam Day Guidelines

While appearing for the CUET examination in 2025, candidates must follow the given exam day guidelines:

  • Follow the dress code: Candidates must wear loose-fitted clothes and avoid wearing long sleeves. In addition, candidates should wear slippers or open sandals over closed shoes.
  • Bring the required documents: Every candidate is required to bring their CUET 2025 Admit Card along with a valid government-authorized identity proof. This can be an Aadhar card, PAN Card, Driving Licence, Passport, or any college identification.
  • Report prior to designated time: Candidates are advised to report at least 30 minutes before the scheduled reporting time. This will help in avoiding any last-minute mishap, delay, or instance that can deter candidates from entering the exam hall.
  • Not carry Prohibited Items: Applicants are prohibited to bring certain items inside the exam hall such as pencil, eraser, metal items, smart watch, mobile phones, calculator, and other electronic devices.

CUET 2025 Results

Once the CUET exam is concluded, the National Testing Agency is expected to release the CUET 2025 Result by the end of July 2025. NTA will also release the CUET Answer Key which will specify the normalized scores of the candidates. To check the results, candidates can follow the below-mentioned steps:

  • Visit the official website of CUET UG (https://exams.nta.ac.in/CUET-UG/)
  • Tap on the ‘CUET UG 2025 Scorecard’ link.
  • Login using application number and password or date of birth.
  • Download the displayed CUET 2025 Scorecard for future reference

750+ in CUET: A Deal Maker or Deal Breaker?

In the CUET 2025 academic session, NTA has made certain changes such as decreasing the number of subjects options available, increasing the section time-limit from 45 to 60 minutes, and keeping the maximum limit on subjects chosen at five. In the light of these changes, it would be vague and ambiguous to determine the best score which will be applicable on all. For instance, a candidate can choose only four subjects instead of the maximum five subjects. This will bring down their overall score and thus applying the ‘good score’ criteria on them would be unfair.

Factors Influencing CUET Scores

A 750 or above score is likely to fall under the good criteria. However, this would still depend on various factors, such as:

  • Difficulty level of the examination: Difficulty level of the examination can also play a pivotal role in affecting the threshold of good score. A difficult paper can bring this limit to a lower level as compared to last year.
  • Competition Level: The number of test takers can also influence the threshold of good score. If the maximum number of candidates have scored more than 750, the competition will escalate causing the acceptable score in each course to rise.
  • Course and college: For some of the highly-sought after courses, the cutoff scores go above 800. However, for some courses 750 is an excellent score. Thus, the acceptable score cutoff varies as per both courses and colleges.

100 Percentile: An Achievable Feat?

Getting a full score in the CUET examination is definitely an achievable feat. In CUET 2024, more than 20,000 candidates achieved full marks in the competitive exam. However, this required utmost hard work, a thorough preparation, a structured approach to tackling weak subjects, and rigorous practice through mock tests.

Students can secure full scores in their CUET paper by learning the core concepts and gradually moving to complex problems. In addition, candidates can seek guidance from coaching institutes or online platforms to strengthen their preparation and ace the exam.

Final Remarks

Achieving a feat of 750+ scores in CUET is not a simple task. It requires an in-depth knowledge of all the chosen subjects along with language chosen and general aptitude test. Candidates can aim to achieve this score to secure a college and course of their choice. However, one must stay thoroughly prepared and well-informed to achieve this manageable feat.
