The initiative was primarily aimed at creating a unified student identity, reducing administrative process delays, and integrating records with the Academic Bank of Credits.
CBSE Exam Fee Hike for Class 10 and Class 12 Students
CBSE Classes 10 and 12 have faced a nominal increase in exam and registration fees for the 2025-26 academic session.
- India: Theory exam fees have been raised by INR 20 per subject (now INR 320). Practical fees have increased by INR 10 per subject (now INR 100).
- Nepal and other countries: Around 10% increase; theory fees at INR 1,100 (Nepal) and INR 2,200 (other countries); practical fees at INR 175 (Nepal) and INR 375 (other countries).
- Registration fees now stand at INR 320 (India) and INR 550–INR 660 (Nepal/others).
The board has stated that the revised fee structure is designed to meet rising operational costs while maintaining exam quality and security.
