The Indian Institute of Technology Roorkee (IIT-R) has released the GATE 2025 results today, March 19, 2025. Candidates can download their results from the official website at gate2025.iitr.ac.in, or through the GOAPS portal by entering their enrollment ID and password.
GATE 2025 Result: Date and Time
As per the official schedule, the results were published on March 19 at 1:50 PM. Last year, GATE 2024 results were announced on March 16 between 5:30 PM and 5:45 PM. Along with the results, IIT Roorkee will soon release the official scorecards for the qualified candidates.
How to Check GATE 2025 Results?
Candidates can follow these steps to check their GATE 2025 results:
- Visit the official website – gate2025.iitr.ac.in or goaps.iitr.ac.in.
- Click on the link for GATE 2025 results.
- Enter your enrollment ID and password.
- Submit the details to view the result.
- Download and save the result for future reference.
GATE 2025 Scorecard Details
The GATE 2025 scorecard will be available for candidates who have scored equal to or more than the qualifying marks. The scorecard will be released on March 28, 2025. Candidates can download the scorecard till March 31, 2025. The scorecard will include:
- Marks obtained in each section
- Overall GATE score
- All India Rank (AIR)
- Qualifying marks for different categories (GEN, EWS, OBC-NCL, SC, ST, PwD)
Candidates who fail to meet the cut-off criteria will not receive a scorecard.
GATE 2025 Cut-off and Qualification Criteria
The qualifying marks for each subject will be released along with the results. Like every year, sectional papers such as XE (Engineering Sciences), XH (Humanities & Social Sciences), and XL (Life Sciences) will have separate rankings and scores.
Candidates must note that simply qualifying for GATE does not guarantee admission, scholarships, or job opportunities. Admissions depend on the specific eligibility criteria of the respective institutes or organizations.
GATE 2025 Result: Previous Year Trends
Last year, GATE 2024 received 8.26 lakh applications across 30 test papers. Out of these, 6,53,292 candidates appeared for the exam. The total number of qualified candidates in different categories (GEN/EWS/OBC-NCL/SC/ST/PwD) was 1,29,268.
In comparison, GATE 2023 had 6.70 lakh registrations across 29 papers. Around 5.17 lakh candidates appeared for the exam, with an attendance rate of 77%.
Following the announcement of GATE results, candidates can use their GATE scores for:
- Admissions to M.Tech, ME, and PhD programs in IITs, NITs, and other premier institutions.
- Recruitment in Public Sector Undertakings (PSUs) like IOCL, ONGC, NTPC, BHEL, and GAIL.
- Fellowship programs in various research organizations.
