GATE 2026 Result is expected to be announced in March 2026. IIT Guwahati will release the GATE Result 2026 on the official GOAPS portal. Candidates can access their GATE Results by logging in with their enrollment ID and password. The conducting authority will release the GATE Scorecard 2026 a few days after the result release. The scorecard will also be available on the GOAPS portal for download. The result of GATE 2026will include GATE scores out of 1000, total marks out of 100, category-wise qualifying marks, and All India Rank (AIR).

 

Previously, the GATE 2025 Results were declared on March 19, 2025 and the scorecard was released on March 28, 2025. The GATE 2025 exam was conducted from February 01 to 16, 2025 in multiple sessions for all 30 papers. IIT Roorkee released the GATE Response Sheet and Answer Key on February 27, 2025. GATE 2026 Marks Normalization

The normalisation procedure for the GATE exam will be done for the exams conducted in multiple sessions. This process considers the difficulty level of the question paper in different sessions. The normalization formula for GATE 2026 is given below-

GATE 2026 Normalization Formula (M) = Mˉtg−Mg/Mˉts−Ms×(M−Ms)+Mg

Here,

  • M = Actual Marks Obtained by the candidate
  • Ms = Mean of Marks of candidates
  • Mg = Mean of Marks of all candidates
  • Mts = Average of top 0.1% candidates’ marks
  • Mtg = Average of top 0.1% candidates’ marks

 

How to Calculate GATE 2026 Score?

GATE Score is calculated by considering the raw marks of the candidates in GATE Result 2026. After the answers are evaluated, these raw marks will be allotted to the candidates. The authority calculates the GATE Score for the multi-session exam by converting the raw marks into normalized marks for any subject. Check the following table for the formula to calculate GATE 2026 Score.

GATE 2026 Score Calculation Formula = Sq + (St-Sq/Mt-Mq) x (M-Mq)

Here,

  • M = Marks Obtained by the candidate
  • Mq = Qualifying Marks for General Category
  • Mt = Mean of Marks of top 10 or 0.1% candidates
  • Sq = GATE Score assigned to Mq (usually 350)
  • St = GATE Score assigned to Mt (usually 900)
