How to Fill AIBE 20 Application Form 2025?

Candidates applying for the All India Bar Examination (AIBE) 20 in 2025 must follow these essential steps to complete the application process successfully.

  • Candidates must begin by going to the AIBE official website at allindiabarexamination.com. On the website homepage, they need to find and click on the AIBE 20 (XX) registration link.
  • After that, the applicants have to register providing basic details such as their name, e-mail ID, mobile number, and enrollment details with their State Bar Council. They need to create a password and authenticate their contact information through OTP sent on their registered e-mail or mobile phone.
  • After registering, the applicants must log in through their credentials to complete the application form. They must then provide detailed personal details including date of birth, gender, category (General, OBC, SC, ST, or PwD), educational qualifications including their LLB degree and university, preferred test centers (not more than three choices), and the exam medium.
  • The candidates then need to upload a scanned copy of the documents required. These include a recent passport size photo, signature, degree in law certificate, State Bar Council registration certificate, recent photo ID such as Aadhaar or voter ID, and category certificates if necessary. All documents must be self-attested and in the required format and size.
  • Aspirants must properly verify the application form before submission. They must ensure all the data entered and documents submitted for uploading, to avoid errors. Discrepancies if found, are to be corrected by aspirants during application correction window or through a mail to the Bar Council of India.
  • Online payment through debit card/credit card/net banking or other means available will be necessary to pay application fee. Payment of INR 3,500 will be necessary for General and OBC categories and INR 2,500 for SC/ST categories. The applicant will need to download and keep a record of the payment receipt as proof.

AIBE 20 Exam Eligibility Criteria

Candidates who wish to appear in AIBE 20 exam must go through AIBE 20 Exam Eligibility Criteria as mentioned below.

  • Applicants should have passed either 3-year LLB or a 5-year integrated LLB program from a university or law college that is recognized by the Bar Council of India (BCI). Final year law students can also apply if they pass their examinations prior to the declaration of results.
  • There is no percentage or marks criteria in the qualifying law degree to sit for AIBE 20. Candidates need only to have passed or be appearing at the final year of their LLB.
  • The candidates should be enrolled or eligible to get enrolled with any State Bar Council of India. Recent news confirms candidates can sit without enrollment certificates but need to register subsequently to practice law.
  • There is no age restriction to sit for the AIBE exam. Any age candidate can apply provided he/she fulfills the education and enrollment requirements.
  • There is no limit on the number of attempts for the exam. Candidates can sit for the AIBE an unlimited number of times until they clear it.
  • To be eligible for the exam, General and OBC category candidates should have a minimum of 45% marks, whereas SC/ST and PwD category candidates need to have at least 40% marks.
  • Physically handicapped candidates (PwD) are also eligible to appear but should furnish a valid disability certificate issued by a competent authority mentioning at least 40% disability.
  • Only Indian citizens can take the exam. The candidates should produce valid identity proofs at the time of application.
  • Candidates from colleges or universities that are not approved by BCI are not entitled to apply for the exam.
  • Applicants failing to fulfill these requirements will be disqualified from appearing for the exam even if they attempt to file an application.
  • Passing the AIBE exam is a prerequisite for being granted the Certificate of Practice (CoP), a prerequisite to practicing law lawfully in India.
