DSU - Hostel Accommodation Types and Fees

DSU - GST Exemption on Hostel Accommodation

The GST Council has clarified that GST exemption applies to hostel accommodation for students or working professionals when the stay exceeds 90 days. This exemption covers rents up to Rs. 20,000 per month. The measure aims to provide financial relief for students and others residing in such accommodations. Accordingly, the hostel accommodation fees at DSU are GST-exempted under this provision.

DSU - Facilities and Support Services

The hostels at DSU are fully furnished and designed to offer a comfortable living experience with amenities such as secured access, CCTV surveillance, and round-the-clock security personnel ensuring student safety. The accommodation includes options for single, double, triple, and four-sharing rooms with appropriate furnishing and essentials.

Students can avail of the mess facility offering nutritious meals at reasonable charges as reflected in the mess fees above. Additionally, the campus provides medical support with on-call doctors and first aid services to address health concerns promptly. Recreational facilities and common areas are maintained to support relaxation and social interaction among residents.

The university enforces a refundable security deposit system to cover any damages or pending dues, which is returned to students upon vacating the hostel successfully. All fees mentioned are fixed and non-refundable except the security deposit.
