The Indian Institute of Technology Jammu also known as IIT Jammu, Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD), Government of India, founded them in 2016. IIT Jammu moved its main campus in Jagti, Nagrota, to Paloura in 2018, replacing its temporary campus. For the construction of the permanent campus, the State Government of Jammu & Kashmir has donated 400 acres of land. Currently, IIT Jammu provides students with PG, UG, PhD, and other courses through its 11 departments. These courses are offered in a number of different streams, including engineering, physics, and chemistry. Hostel accommodations, a cafeteria, an open gym, digital classrooms, a music room, TT tables, snooker tables, a dispensary, and a common hall with a TV for indoor leisure activities are all available on the IIT Kashmir campus.
