NSD Delhi Admission 2025: Courses, Dates, Eligibility, Application Process

The National School of Drama (NSD) offers a Diploma program in Acting and Theatre Techniques and Design. In order to apply for this program, the applicants should have a graduation degree in any subject from a recognized university in India or abroad. Also, the applicants should have been involved in at least 6 different theatre productions and present evidence of the same in the form of certificates or newspaper clippings. A working knowledge of Hindi or English is required, and applicants must submit a recommendation letter from at least one theatre expert. The school has two main theatre groups: The Repertory Company and Theatre-In-Education Company (Sanakaar Rang Toli), and it also runs an Extension Program, where NSD alumni conduct workshops across India, Nepal, and Bhutan. To apply, candidates can submit their application online at NSD Admission or offline by post. The application fee is 50 INR for online applications, and if applying offline, the fee is 225 INR for the form and prospectus. The last date to apply is May 10. Many well-known actors, including Irrfan Khan, Pankaj Tripathi, and Zakir Hussain, are alumni of NSD, making it one of the most respected drama schools in India.

NSD Delhi PG Diploma Admission 2025

The National School of Drama (NSD) follows a two-phase admission process for its Diploma Course in Dramatic Arts. In the first phase, candidates must clear the NSD entrance exam, which acts as the preliminary round. The selected individuals are invited for participation in phase two – a five-day concluding test workshop organized at the campus of NSD. The workshop is an essential phase of selection and serves to test the practical aptitude as well as assess the overall aptness of the candidate for admission into the course.

NSD offers three specializations under its Diploma Course in Dramatic Arts, allowing students to focus on different aspects of theatre and performance.

NSD Delhi Application Process 2025

Applicants need to provide their marks at the time of registration, which is important for admissions. Upon submission, applicants need to join the counseling / admission process by choosing the preference courses/program on the official website. Applicants will be admitted into the desired programs according to their preferred choices.

1. Log in to the official website of the university at https://nsd.gov.in/delhi/, click 'New Admission' Button.
2. It will take you to the new page, Start filling the application form by using personal information and professional information in the given form followed by program selection.
3. Candidates applying for multiple courses need to select/insert entrance tests such as NSD Entrance Exam or any other valid Entrance Tests for admissions in PG Diploma etc courses. Also, insert all the given details and documents properly.
4. After filling in personal details, take part in the admission/ counseling process by filling in your scores attained in relative exams/boards exams as a step of the process of counseling for admission in the University.The given scores will also be utilized to verify your eligibility for admission in the university.
5. On the basis of submitted/ acquired marks of Board marks/ Entrance exams or corresponding qualification, Seats will be allocated by the University. The process of seat allocation also takes into account the number of seats available for the specific disciplines.
6. Successful selected candidates or candidates who get selected will receive a provisional offer letter. Also, This letter signifies the mark of successful admission, proceeding towards further processes of the admission.
7. Visit the physical counseling session as indicated in the offer letter which is highly compulsory. This action indicates your interest and suitability for the offered seat.
8. Deposit the enrollment fee and other fee on or before the specified date in the provisional admission offer letter. Payment is highly essential to confirm your admission in the Institute.
9. Final registration procedure at the University to become an official member of the University. Also, Classes will start as per the academic calendar given by the University.
