Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel University of Agriculture and Technology is a state/central Agricultural University established in 2002 which is situated in Meerut. It is funded by the Government of Uttar Pradesh and ICAR, making it the first such agricultural university of the 21st century. SVPUAT offers undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctoral programs across disciplines such as agriculture, biotechnology, veterinary sciences, and food technology. The university maintains affiliations with prominent institutions, including ICA, UGC and IAUA. Its main focus is on rural development through education, through which it has jurisdiction over 15 districts of its 4 divisions in western Uttar Pradesh.
