SIT is the first affiliated school of Visvesvaraya Technological University to establish a full-fledged Training and Placement Department under the direction of a prominent professor with background in industry. The department is in charge of contacting companies and asking them to hold recruitment events on campus.
Additionally, the department offers lodging in guest houses, local hospitality, and other infrastructure to the industries so that college selection programs may be carried out successfully and quickly.
The department has been successful in bringing several industries to SIT for campus recruitment during the past three years. These include TCS, Wipro, Bharat Electroncis Limited (PSU), Mercedes - Benz R & D, Sony India, Nokia, JP Morgran, VMWare, Siemens, Aricent, Oracle, Cataraman Ventures, DELL, E & Y, Allstate, IBM, L & T, Mindtree, National Payment Corporation Philips Software, Robert Bosch, TVS Group, Kalyani Group, Triveni Engineering etc. A large number of students are getting placed in the industry through campus recruitment.
