The MTech or the Master of Technology helps students gain expert knowledge and advanced skills in many engineering and technology fields through a two-year program. While teaching scientific and mathematical concepts, the program also explores modern technology and allows students to focus on Computer Science, Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electronics, adding more areas as well.

In Uttarakhand, MTech covers both theoretical and hands-on experiences with projects, activities in labs, participation in seminars, and internships. This system makes sure that graduates can use both their knowledge and skills to find solutions for actual engineering problems. Graduates of MTech can find interesting work in IT, manufacturing, automotive, energy, construction, telecommunications, and academia, and also go on to do PhD studies.

Typically, to enroll in MTech courses in Uttarakhand, one has to appear in entrance exams, such as GATE (Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering). At first, applicants are required to sign up for the entrance exam and reach a passing score. Their achievements in the exam allow them to participate in a counseling session, where they can find appropriate colleges and fields to study.

A few universities in Uttarakhand give priority admission to MTech programs for candidates with good academic achievement in BTech/BE degrees. Uttarakhand’s admission system for MTech programs mainly accepts hardworking and qualified students for the engineering field.
