BITSAT Exam Pattern 2026 will be available on the official website, bitsadmission.com. BITSAT 2026 Exam Pattern is designed to evaluate candidates’ knowledge, speed, and accuracy. Candidates appearing for the BITSAT 2026 must analyse the exam pattern carefully. Candidates are required to attempt 130 questions in their BITSAT 2026 Exam. BITSAT Question Paper 2026 will consist of 130 multiple-choice questions (MCQs). Candidates can also opt for the additional 12 questions if they have completed their 130 questions. After conducting the BITSAT 2026 Exam, the authority will start preparing the results. The authority will follow a prescribed format for its evaluation process of the BITSAT 2026. The marking scheme, which will be followed to calculate the BITSAT 2026 Results, is as follows:

Note: If candidates attempt all 130 questions, then they may proceed with the additional questions. There will be three questions each from the respective subjects from the 12 additional questions. If students opt to attempt these questions, they cannot revisit and correct the 130 earlier answered questions. BITSAT Preparation Tips 2026

Candidates are advised to review the BITSAT Exam Pattern and start planning their preparations accordingly. BITSAT 2026 is a competitive exam conducted annually by the authorities of BITS Pilani.

 

The examination tests the foundational base of students in Physics, English, Chemistry, English Proficiency, Logical Reasoning, and Biology or Mathematics. Candidates must follow the points before starting their BITSAT Preparation 2026:

  • Candidates must analyse the BITSAT 2026 Syllabus and Exam Pattern carefully before starting the preparation.
  • Then, the candidate must build a solid foundational base with the help of the NCERT material and utilise limited resources.
  • Prepare a study plan and create notes for weak areas. Candidates can also make crisp notes and flashcards for formulas, concepts, and shortcuts. Prepare material that is quick to revise and covers essential concepts at the last moment.
  • Attempt mock tests and examine the previous year's papers. Candidates can start with subjects they are most confident in and create ample time for weaker subjects. After attempting the mocks, candidates must analyse their mistakes, accuracy and questions that take too much time.

What is the marking scheme for the BITSAT 2026?

Under the BITSAT 2026 Marking Scheme, candidates will receive +3 marks for each correct answer, and for each incorrect answer, there will be a negative marking of 1 mark. Questions which are left unanswered by the candidate in their BITSAT 2026 Exam will be awarded zero marks.

How many sections are there in the BITSAT 2026 Exam?

There will be four sections in the BITSAT 2026 Exam. These four sections are Physics, Chemistry, Biology/Mathematics, English Proficiency and Logical Reasoning.

How many questions will be there in each section of the BITSAT 2026 Exam?

There will be a total of 130 questions in the BITSAT 2026 Exam. The distribution of questions in each section is as follows: The Physics and Chemistry section will contain 30 questions each, the Mathematics/Biology section will contain 40 questions, and the English Proficiency and Logical Reasoning section will contain 30 questions.

Is there any sectional time limit for the BITSAT 2026?

No, Candidates are not bound by a fixed time per section. Along with this, candidates will be able to choose the order of sections.

Are there any extra questions in the BITSAT 2026 Exam?

Yes, there are an additional 12 questions in the BITSAT 2026 Exam. If the candidate answers all 130 questions and their time remains, then they can proceed with these additional questions.

If I attempt extra questions, can I go back and change my earlier answers in BITSAT 2026?

No, once the candidate opts for the extra questions, they cannot go back to the 130 questions to make changes.

Which candidate can choose the Mathematics/Biology section in the BITSAT 2026?

Candidates applying for Engineering must opt for Mathematics, whereas candidates applying for B.Pharm must opt for Biology for their BITSAT 2026 Exam.
