CBSE Class 12 registration 2027 for regular candidates is being conducted by the schools through a process called the List of Candidates, or LOC. Regular students are registered through their school’s LOC submission. The respective schools submit the candidate details to the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) through the List of Candidates (LOC) on the Pariksha Sangam portal. CBSE LOC registration 2026-27 started on September 24, 2026. CBSE Class 12 registration last date 2027 with normal fee is October 21, 2026. Registrations will continue from October 22 to October 30, 2026, with an additional late fee of INR 2000. Candidates should have passed the Class 11 exam from CBSE and complete at least 75% attendance in Class 12 till January 2027 to be eligible to register for the CBSE Class 12 exam 2027. CBSE registration fee for Class 12 2027 is INR 1600 for up to 5 subjects, INR 320 for each additional subject, and INR 160 for each additional practical.

 

CBSE Private Candidate Form 2027 Class 12 has been released on October 8, 2026, for categories such as Essential Repeat, Compartment, Improvement of Performance and Additional Subject, on the CBSE website at cbse.gov.in. CBSE Private Candidate Form 2027 last date is October 23, 2026, without a late fee and October 30, 2026 with a late fee of INR 2,000. CBSE Class 12 LOC 2027 Categories of Students

CBSE Class 12 LOC 2027 categorizes students according to their eligibility and the purpose for which they are appearing in the Board examination. As specified by the CBSE, schools must select the correct category while submitting the List of Candidates (LOC), as an incorrect category can affect the calculation of the candidate’s result. For Class 12, students appearing through schools are divided into three categories: Regular candidates, Essential Repeat candidates, and Improvement of Performance candidates.

The CBSE has specifically advised schools to identify the category of every Class 12 candidate correctly while preparing the LOC. Regular candidates are those appearing for the examination for the first time, while Essential Repeat candidates are those required to reappear after being placed in the Essential Repeat category. CBSE Class 12 LOC 2027 Categories of Students for Private Candidates include candidates eligible to appear in the Senior School Certificate Examination (Class XII) as Full Subjects (5/6 subjects), Compartment and Improvement of Performance candidates. The eligibility criteria differ for each category, and students must select the correct category while submitting the online application form.

Improvement of PerformanceCandidates who passed the CBSE Class 12 examination in 2026 can apply to improve their performance in one or more subjects, provided they appeared in the same subjects in the 2026 examination.

CBSE has specifically stated that only candidates who were declared PASS in 2026 can apply under the Improvement of Performance category, subject to fulfilment of the other applicable conditions. Candidates must therefore verify their previous result and choose the appropriate category before submitting the application. The Board also allows only one application form. Once a candidate submits an application under one category, they cannot apply again under another category. Therefore, candidates should carefully select their category and other details while filling out the CBSE Class 12 Private Candidate Form 2027.

 

CBSE Class 12 LOC Online Filling Process 2027

CBSE Class 12 LOC (List of Candidates) online filling process for 2027 requires schools to complete the submission through the CBSE portal by first logging in as a registered school, checking the previous year’s registered candidate details, marking corrections, adding or deleting candidates where required, uploading or correcting photographs, updating APAAR ID details, finalizing the data, and finally printing the submitted LOC.

A. Accessing the portalThe online LOC facility can be accessed only by schools that are already registered with CBSE.
B. Checklist Printing of last year's Registered Candidates from the portal
  • The portal will display the candidate information that the school had submitted for Class XI registration in the preceding year.
  • The heading of this list will be “CHECKLIST of last year’s Registered CANDIDATES and ELIGIBLE for CLASS XII Examinations”.
  • Schools should generate the available candidate list from the portal before proceeding further. The list should be printed on A4 paper in landscape orientation, keeping the margins on all sides at 0.25 inch.
C. Checking of checklist and corrections to be marked on the checklist
  • The school should compare the details shown in the checklist with its Original Admission and Withdrawal Register (AWR) and verify the subjects, subject codes and candidate photographs.
  • Any change that is required should first be identified and marked on the printed checklist. Particular attention should be given to the spelling of the candidate's, mother's and father's names, along with gender, category, date of birth and subjects.
  • If both additions and deletions are required, the deletions should be processed first so that space becomes available for adding candidates.
D. Deletion of CandidatesWhen a candidate needs to be removed, the school must select the appropriate reason and corresponding deletion code while entering the information online. For a student repeating Class XI, the relevant reason is Essential Repeat, with the same term used as the deletion code. Where a student has moved from the school to another school, the applicable code is TRANSFER. The school should also retain a record of the candidates being deleted.
E. Addition of Candidates

Candidates who need to be included in the Class XII LOC can be added according to the applicable category. New admissions can be entered as follows:

  • Transfers from other CBSE Affiliated Schools — TRANSFER
  • Transfers from Schools not affiliated to CBSE — DIRECT
  • Improvement of Performance – those who have qualified/Passed Class XII and will be appearing for Improvement of Performance in all the subjects — IMPROVEMENT
  • Those who have not Qualified Class XII previously and will be appearing as regular candidates by repeating in all the subjects again — ESSENTIAL REPEAT
F. Photographs of Candidates: If wrong or not legible/clear or not available
  • If the photograph shown in the checklist is incorrect, unclear, difficult to identify or missing, the school must upload a replacement image.
  • The photograph should have a white background and high contrast, with a passport-size black-and-white photograph being preferred. The student's name and the date on which the photograph was taken should appear on it.
  • The photograph must have been taken on or after July 1, 2026.
  • The scanned image should be saved in JPG format, using the candidate's Registration Number as the filename. The upload should be completed through the “Uploading of Photograph” option.
G. Corrections marked on the checklist are to be made on the portalCorrections identified on the printed checklist, including photograph-related changes, have to be entered through a computer or laptop connected to the CBSE website by choosing the option “Correction of Candidates Details including photographs, if any”. The school should use the portal option for correcting candidate particulars, including photographs.
H. Correction of Candidate’s details including photographs, if any

This activity has three options: MODIFY/CORRECT, ADD and DELETE.

  • MODIFY/CORRECT for making corrections: For an individual correction, the school's checklist serial number is entered so that the candidate's existing information appears on the screen. The required change can then be entered against the relevant field.
  • ADD: For adding details of any left-out Candidates/new admissions.
  • DELETE: To delete a candidate, the relevant checklist serial number is entered and the displayed record is removed using the ‘Delete’ button. A deleted record cannot simply be restored; if it needs to be included again, its details must be entered through the ADD option.
I. Print Check List of List of Candidates againPrint the Check List of List of Candidates again by choosing the option “Checklist Printing of List of Candidates (LOC) with photographs”.
J. Uploading of PhotographsWhen a candidate's photograph needs to be replaced, the school should enter the candidate's serial number from the checklist. The candidate's information and any existing photograph available on the portal will then appear. The school can select the correct photograph saved on its computer and upload it for that candidate.
K. Checklist Printing of List of Candidates (LOC) with photographs After entering the required candidate information, the school should print the submitted details using the option “Checklist Printing of List of Candidates (LOC) with photographs”. For Class XII, the checklist carries the heading “CHECKLIST OF CANDIDATES FOR LOC FOR CLASS XII.”
L. Updation of APAAR ID
  • The school should access the “Validate APAAR ID” option.
  • The portal will show the list of the candidates with their registration number, candidate name, father/guardian name.
  • The school can enter the corresponding APAAR ID and provide consent for sharing it.
  • If the APAAR ID is unavailable or the candidate does not wish to provide it, the appropriate option can be selected.
  • Any APAAR ID entered must be valid, and the candidate's name should correspond with the name associated with that APAAR ID because the information will be validated.
  • Providing an APAAR ID is optional.
M. Finalization of Data (Ensure all corrections have been made before finalization)
  • Finalization should be carried out only after every required correction has been completed and the submitted list has been checked for errors. Once the data is finalized, the information submitted up to that point is treated as final, and further corrections, deletions or additions to that submitted data are not ordinarily possible.
  • The fee applicable to the LOC is determined according to the fee schedule, with the date of finalization being used for fee calculation.
  • If the prescribed submission period is still open, additional candidates may subsequently be added, subject to the applicable fee requirements.
N. Printing of Final List of Candidates (LOC)
  • After completing the submission and fee-related requirements, the school should print the final candidate list. The final list contains the submitted candidate particulars and cannot be generated until the fee details have been submitted.
  • The school should obtain confirmation from the mother, father and candidate through their signatures to verify the candidate's name, father's name and mother's name.
  • The heading of this List will be “FINAL LIST OF CANDIDATES FOR CLASS XII”.
  • Candidate signatures should also be collected on the final list.

 

CBSE Class 12 Private Candidate Form 2027 Registration

CBSE Class 12 Registration 2027 for Private Candidates has started online for candidates appearing in the CBSE Class 12 Board Examination 2027. The CBSE Private Candidate portal now provides the application link for the Main Examination 2027. Candidates must submit only one application form and should carefully select their category, subjects and examination-centre city. CBSE requires candidates to provide a valid working email ID for OTP verification. Candidates who appeared for the 2026 examination will have details such as their name and parents' details auto-generated, while candidates who appeared in 2025 or earlier have to enter the required details themselves. Candidates can follow these steps to complete the CBSE Class 12 Private Candidate form 2027:

  1. Visit the official CBSE website: Go to the CBSE website and open the Private Candidate section. Click on “Online Application for Private Candidate for Examination Main, 2027.”
  2. Select the appropriate candidate category: Choose the category applicable to the candidate, such as Fail/Essential Repeat, Compartment or Improvement of Performance. Candidates should select their category carefully because CBSE allows only one application form.
  3. Enter the previous examination details: Candidates who appeared for the CBSE examination in 2026 will have certain personal details auto-generated by the system. Candidates who appeared in 2025 or earlier must enter the required information manually. Candidates must also enter the correct combination of Roll Number, School Number and Centre Number, wherever available, as given on their marksheet.
  4. Verify the candidate details: Check the name, father's/guardian's name, mother's name and other details displayed in the application. If incorrect previous examination details are entered, the application may not be processed and an error message may be displayed.
  5. Enter a valid email ID: Provide a valid email ID because CBSE requires OTP verification during the application process.
  6. Select the subjects: Choose only the subjects that are auto-generated in the online system. Candidates should carefully check the subject code, particularly for language subjects, as more than one type of language course may be available.
  7. Select the examination-centre city: Choose the city in which the candidate wishes to appear for the examination. CBSE will allot the examination centre based on the city selected in the form. Once allotted, the examination centre will be final, and CBSE will not consider requests for a change. Therefore, candidates should select the city carefully.
  8. Enter the correct postal address: Provide the candidate's correct postal address in the application form. This address is used for the delivery of applicable educational documents for candidates appearing from centres outside Delhi.
  9. Upload the photograph and signature: Scan the candidate's photograph and signature and upload them in the prescribed format. CBSE states that the scanned JPG files of the photograph and signature should not exceed 40 KB. The photograph should be recent, in colour, clear and of good quality.
  10. Upload the photograph through the prescribed option: Save the scanned photograph as a JPG file, ensure that it is passport-sized and within the 40 KB limit, log in through the “व्यक्तिगत परीक्षार्थी” link on the CBSE website, and use the photo-upload option to upload it.
  11. Pay the examination fee online: Pay the applicable examination fee through the digital payment methods prescribed by CBSE. For candidates in India, CBSE accepts Internet Banking, UPI, Debit Card and Credit Card. Offline fee payment is not accepted.
  12. Submit the application form: After entering all details, selecting subjects and examination-centre city, uploading the required files and completing the fee payment, submit the CBSE Class 12 Private Candidate Registration 2027 form online.
  13. Keep the application details safely: Candidates should retain the submitted application and fee-payment details for future reference. CBSE will allot a fresh roll number to candidates appearing in the 2027 examinations; candidates will not be permitted to appear using the previous year's roll number.
