VITEEE 2025 Paper Analysis FAQs
Is 70 a good score in VITEEE, and will it get me CSE at the Vellore campus?
A score of 70 in VITEEE is considered to be a decent score. But candidates might not get admission to computer science and engineering at the Vellore campus with this mark.
What was the overall difficulty level of the VITEEE exam, and which section was the toughest?
The exam was moderate compared to previous years, though Mathematics remained challenging in the VITEEE exam.
How much time should candidates spend on a single question during the exam?
Candidates must aim for 1-1.5 minutes per question; skip lengthy ones (e.g., probability/calculus) and revisit later.
Which topics carry the highest weightage in the VITEEE Biology section?
In Biology, Genetics, Human Physiology, and Biotechnology contributed 60-70% of Biology questions at the VITEEE exam.
What is the distribution of theory vs. numerical/application questions across the core subjects?
Physics had many numerical questions, Chemistry was theory-based, and Mathematics had about 90% numerical questions.
Which topics dominated the Mathematics section, and what made it challenging?
Calculus, Probability, and Coordinate Geometry dominated Mathematics. Questions involved integration, differential equations, and conic sections. Vector Algebra and 3D Geometry also contributed 4-5 questions per slot. Time management was crucial due to lengthy problem-solving steps.
What was the focus of the English section in the VITEEE exam?
English emphadised reading comprehension (2 passages), grammar (error spotting, tenses), and vocabulary (synonyms/antonyms). Questions were direct but required careful reading to avoid traps in the options.
What is the best strategy for attempting the Mathematics section and managing time?
Solve easy questions (algebra, matrices) first, then tackle calculus/probability. Allocate 40-45 minutes to Mathematics, leaving 10-15 minutes for review. Skip overly complex problems initially.
Which parts of the Chemistry section are the most scoring and predictable?
Physical Chemistry (mole concept, thermodynamics) was scoring due to formula-based questions. Inorganic Chemistry (periodic table, coordination compounds) relied on NCERT facts, making it predictable.
How are ranks calculated in VITEEE, and what rank can I expect with a score of 400+?
Ranks depend on normalised scores across slots. A score of 400+ may secure a rank under 10,000, but exact predictions require post-exam percentile data. Focus on maximising accuracy in high-weightage topics.
