• Based on the marks secured in the exam, the VITEEE 2026 merit list will be prepared by the authorities. Further, the participating insitutes will release the individual VITEEE 2026 Cutoff.
• The authorities will not send the candidates their obtained marks or results through the post. Candidates will be able to access their obtained VIT 2026 ranks through SMS if they have submitted their correct contact details.
• Since the final VIT ranks are scrutinised with extreme care, there will be no provision for re-ranking and re-totalling. It is to be noted that the photocopies of the answer sheets will not be made available. No correspondence in this regard will be entertained.
• The candidate should appear for the examination only once. VIT has the right to hold the rank for the candidates appearing in VITEEE more than once.

How to Calculate VITEEE 2026 Result

The authorities use a statistical process of Equi-percentile Equating to identify the percentile ranks for the candidates. Based on this process, the scores on different forms with the same percentile rank are considered to be equivalent. Candidates are advised not to draw assumptions and predictions of their score or rank based on their estimates of scores.

What is Equating Methodology?

The equating methodology is used to provide equal opportunities for all the candidates who appeared in the VITEEE 2026. As the exam is conducted in different slots and on various days, the methodology helps in creating a fair result, keeping all students at the same level, regardless of whether they appear in a slot with easier or more difficult papers. Therefore, the university balances the scores of all candidates by considering various factors.

• Equating is a statistical process that is used to adjust scores on test forms (that are approximately equivalent). It is done so that scores on the forms can be used interchangeably.
• Thus, equating is used to adjust scores of candidates who have taken different forms of a test, facilitating a meaningful and fair comparison for the merit list and ranking of these candidates.
• The statistical procedure of Equipercentile Equating would be used by VIT to identify the percentile ranks for candidates, such that scores on different forms with the same percentile rank are considered to be equivalent.
• Thus, Percentile Rank is a unique and invariant position of the test taker in that group.
• A percentile Rank, say 90th Percentile, denotes that 90% of test-takers have scored below this score level and 10% above this test score.
• Since it is a computer-based test, utmost care will be given to the valuation process. Hence, there will be no revaluation of the answers.
