Dharmashastra National Law University (DNLU) in Jabalpur, Madhya Pradesh has received recognition from both the University Grants Commission (UGC) and the Bar Council of India (BCI). The university's Chancellor is the Chief Justice of the High Court of Madhya Pradesh. DNLU offers a 5 year integrated B.A.LL.B. (Hons.) program at the UG level and a 1 year LL.M. program with various specialisations, Ph.D. programs with both full-time and part-time options for students. Admission to the UG and PG programs is through the Common Law Admission Test CLAT 2026, conducted by the Consortium of NLUs.

 

The CLAT 2026 exam will be held on 7 December 2025, with registrations open from 1 August to 31 October 2025. The exam is offline and OMR based.

The university offers an LLM programme at the PG level, admission to which is based on CLAT PG.

  • To be eligible for the LL.M. program, candidates must have passed their LL.B. or an equivalent examination with a minimum of 50% marks, along with a valid CLAT score.

Candidates may opt for either full-time or part-time Ph.D. programmes. Seats are available in the areas of Law, English, Political Science and Economics.

  • To apply for the Ph.D. program, candidates need to have a PG course in a relevant field, with admission based on a Doctoral Research Admission Test (DRAT), followed by an interview.

DNLU Jabalpur Application Process 2025

The admission process for programs at Dharmashastra National Law University is mainly based on the candidate's performance in the CLAT.

  • Candidates aspiring for B.A.LL.B. and LL.M. programs need to apply for CLAT 2026 through the Consortium of NLU website.
  • The application process requires candidates to first register, then fill personal and academic details and upload necessary documents, followed by application fee payment.
  • Shortlisted candidates are then called to take part in the CLAT counselling process, during which candidates can give preference for the choice of their NLU campus.
  • After a seat is allotted during counselling, candidates must pay the prescribed course fees to confirm their admission.
  • For the P.hD course, candidates can directly apply on the official DNLU Website and appear for DRAT.

How can I cancel or withdraw my admission and request a refund?

Does the university offer hostel facilities?

Yes, DNLU offers separate hostels for boys and girls. Rooms are twin-sharing with essential furniture and 24/7 hot water. Hostels include a common room with indoor games, a television, and access to a gymnasium. CCTV surveillance ensures safety.

The Jabalpur Railway Station is 2.5 km (from Platform 1), around 6 to 8 minutes by road. Jabalpur Airport (Dumna) is about 14 km, 25 to 30 minutes in normal traffic.University buses are available for student use, subject to university rules.

Yes, the university shares internship opportunities with law firms, NGOs, think tanks, and advocates. Students have also received PPOs (Pre-Placement Offers) and assessment internships during later years.
