KJ Somaiya Institute of Engineering and Information Technology (KJSIEIT) was founded by Somaiya Group in 2001. The institute offers B.E courses in 5 disciplines with an intake of 480 students in all the departments. KJSIEIT also offers an M.Tech in Artificial Intelligence with an intake of 18 students. Additionally, there are 360 seats available for lateral entry students in BE.

• Candidates seeking admission to the first year of the B.Tech program must have passed 10+2 or equivalent examination with a minimum of 45% of marks with Physics and Mathematics as compulsory subjects.
• Admission to B.E programs in KJSIEIT will be granted based on scores in the Maharashtra Common Entrance Test (MHT CET) or JEE Main.
• For Lateral Entry, the candidates must have a Diploma/ B.Sc. degree with at least 45% (40% in the case of reserved category) marks in aggregate from a recognized university.
• Selection of the lateral entry candidates is made on the basis of their merit in the respective qualifying examination and verification of documents.
• For M.Tech (AI), candidates must have a B.Tech degree in a relevant discipline with 50% marks at minimum. Additionally, the candidate must have a valid GATE score.

KJSIEIT B.Tech Admission 2025

• KJSIEIT gives admission to the B.E first-year program through merit and performance in MHT CET or JEE Main. MHT CET is a state-level entrance test conducted by the Admissions Regulating Authority and State Common Entrance Test Cell of Maharashtra.
• Candidates must have passed 10+2 or equivalent qualifying examinations with Physics and Mathematics as compulsory subjects and either of these as optional subjects, Chemistry or Biotechnology or Biology or Technical Vocational subject or Computer Science or Information Technology or Informatics Practices or Agriculture or Engineering Graphics or Business Studies with a minimum of 45% marks in aggregate.

KJSIEIT B.Tech Eligibility Criteria

• Passed HSC or its equivalent examination with Physics and Mathematics as compulsory subjects along with one of the Chemistry or Biotechnology or Biology or Technical Vocational subjects or Computer Science or Information Technology or Informatics Practices or Agriculture or Engineering Graphics or Business Studies and obtained at least 45 % marks (at least 40 % marks, in case of Backward Class categories, Economically Weaker Section and Persons with Disability category candidates belonging to Maharashtra State), in the above subjects taken together.
• Passed Diploma in Engineering and Technology and obtained at least 50 % marks (at least 45 % marks, in case of Backward class categories and Persons with Disability candidates from Maharashtra State only).

KJSIEIT B.Tech Selection Criteria

• The candidate should have appeared in all the subjects in CET and obtained a non-zero score in CET, as determined by the Competent Authority. However, preference shall be given to the candidate obtaining a non-zero positive score in JEE (Main) B.E./B.Tech over the candidates who obtained non-zero scores in CET.

KJSIEIT B.Tech (Lateral Entry) Admission 2025

KJSIET also offers direct admission to the Second Year of the full-time B.E program based on merit in the last examination. There are four specializations available in the B.Tech Lateral Entry. Candidate must have passed a Diploma course in Engineering & Technology or B.Sc. with 45% marks in aggregate to be eligible for the same.

• I passed the Diploma course in Engineering and Technology with at least 45% marks.

KJSIEIT M.Tech Admission 2025

K J Somaiya Institute of Engineering and Information Technology offers a two-year M.Tech program in Artificial Intelligence. Candidate must have passed a B.Tech degree in a relevant discipline to be eligible for the course. Additionally, for final admission, the applicant has to obtain a non-zero positive score in GATE.

KJSIEIT M.Tech Eligibility Criteria

• Passed Bachelor's Degree in the relevant field of Engineering and Technology from All India Council for Technical Education or Central or State Government institutions or equivalent, with at least 50% marks (at least 45% marks in case of candidates of Backward class categories and persons with disability belonging to Maharashtra State only).

KJSIEIT M.Tech Selection Criteria

• Obtained non-zero positive score in GATE.
• For sponsored candidates, at least two years of full-time work experience in a registered firm/ company/industry/ educational and/ or research institute/ any Government Department or Government Autonomous Organization in the relevant field in which admission is being sought.

KJSIEIT Ph.D. Admission 2025

K J Somaiya Institute of Engineering and Information Technology offers PhD courses in Computer Engineering, Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering and Information Technology for a minimum duration of three years and a maximum of six years from the date of admission.

• Candidates shall have passed a Master’s degree or Professional Degree or Full-time Diploma declared equivalent to the Master’s degree with at least 55% marks in aggregate of all years / all semesters.
• A relaxation of 5% of marks, from 55% to 50%, or an equivalent relaxation of CGPA grade, may be allowed for those belonging to SC/ST/VJNT/SBC/OBC category (of the Maharashtra State), Belonging to differently-abled persons with more than 40% disability.
• Admission to the Ph.D. will be based on merit in the Pre-Entrance Test (PET).
