Thapar Institute of Engineering and Technology Punjab offers admission on the basis of both Entrance and Merit. Students are selected based on the merit in the last qualifying exam and specific entrance exam score. It accepts entrance exam scores like GATE , CAT , XAT , MAT , CMAT , NMAT , etc. TIET B.Tech admission is granted based on both JEE Main Score and Class 10+2 PCM merit of 59% each, respectively. Factors Affecting Cut Off
The Main key factors affecting cut off includes various stages such as:
- Number of Applicants: the more the number of peoples apply for the entrance exam the more will be the cut off
- Exam difficulty : the difficulty of exam decides the merit candidates in the college
- Seat availability: based on seats available in the university the cut off will be decided according to the seat availability.
- Reservation policy: the cutoff includes the reservation policies for the admission of college. The cut off for reservation candidates will be less than unreserved candidates.
