BA Hons. Economics Syllabus in Government and Private Colleges

BA Hons. in Economics is an undergraduate program designed to equip students with economic theory, quantitative techniques, and applied economic analysis. The course is designed in 6 - 8 semesters and includes core courses, minor subjects, skill development aspects, and value-added modules for all-around intellectual and professional development.

 

The curriculum starts with foundation courses in microeconomics and macroeconomics, and slowly moves into the higher-level areas of study such as econometrics, international trade, development economics, and public finance. Interdisciplinary learning is also stressed through multidisciplinary and ability development courses. In the later semesters, students venture into specialisations like agricultural economics, regional economics, and economic demography, while research through project work or dissertation is allowed (research track).
