B.Tech Information Security Syllabus: Core Subjects and Electives

• Updated on  Jun 27, 2025, by Shibam Kumar

BTech Information Security is an undergraduate degree consisting of four years of study that provides students with the knowledge and skills to analyze, investigate, and control the security hazards of organizational information systems. In India, however, most colleges, whether private or government colleges, only offer a BTech Cyber Security program rather than a dedicated BTech Information Security program.

BTech Cyber Security is commonly offered as a specialization in the larger BTech Computer Science Engineering (CSE) degree. The curriculum combines the foundation in computer science and specific cybersecurity training in ethical hacking, threat detection, application security, cryptography, and digital forensics. The specialization equips students to respond to security attacks as well as evaluate risks and establish security mechanisms to protect networks and data systems.
