  • For SC/ST candidates, there is a 5% relaxation given in the eligibility marks for physics, chemistry, and mathematics excluding English.
  • To pursue a BTech in Marine Engineering, the student must qualify for the respective entrance examination.
  • Students who are physically and medically fit must meet the physical requirements, which have been prescribed by the Merchant Shipping (Medical Examination).
  • The maximum age limit for general male candidates is given to be 25 years old, for people belonging to SC/ST is 30 years, and for OBC (NCL) is 28 years.
  • For the female candidates, the maximum age limit for the general category is 27 years, for the SC/ST category is 32 years, and for the OBC (NCL) category is 32 years.

BTech Marine Engineering Admission Process 2025

To secure a seat in the Indian Maritime University (IMU) for BTech in Marine Engineering, the student needs to meet the eligibility criteria and then qualify for the respective entrance examination. Hence, the student needs to follow the following steps to proceed with their admission process.

 

Step 1- Students have to register online on the official website of the Indian Maritime University for IMU CET, and it is important to note that it is mandatory to appear for the entrance examination.

 

Step 2- The result will be declared on the IMU website. The student must check his/her results for the same.

 

Step 3- The student will be qualified for the further admission process according to his/her score and rank in the IMU CET in the entrance examination.

 

Step 4- The student will be shortlisted based on their score and rank in the IMU CET. It is important to note that the rank, score, etc of the student will be based on the basis of their category also.

 

Step 5- The students who will be qualified must compulsorily participate in the counseling process for further allocation of their seats in their chosen campuses. The seat allocation will be based on the student’s score, rank, and availability of seats according to the category as well.
