IELTS 2025 Results: How to Calculate IELTS Band Scores?
The IELTS Band scores are the average scores secured by students in each section of the test, i.e., Reading, Writing, Listening and Speaking. To calculate the overall band score, candidates simply need to take the average of all the sectional scores. If the average comes out in decimal figures, then it will be rounded to the nearest half or whole IELTS band score. For example, if a candidate’s average is coming 0.25, then it will be rounded off to the nearest. Hence, if the average score is 6.25, the final score considered will be 6.5. In a similar manner, if an average band is coming .75, then it will be rounded to the nearest, and the final band score will be 7 if students score an IELTS band score of 6.75.
