UCEED Counselling 2027: B.Des Application, Seat Allotment, Fees, Dates and Process

UCEED Counselling 2027 will cover B.Des admission through a common application and joint seat allocation process conducted by IIT Bombay. Only candidates who qualify UCEED 2027 can apply for B.Des admission at the participating institutes. The B.Des application process will start on March 15, 2027. IIT Bombay will conduct five seat allotment rounds from April to July 2027.

Seat allocation will consider the candidate's UCEED 2027 All India Rank, category, institute preferences and seat availability. Candidates must submit their institute preferences through the common B.Des application form. They must pay the prescribed seat acceptance fee after receiving an allotment.

UCEED Counselling Dates 2027

IIT Bombay will begin the B.Des application process on March 15, 2027. The joint seat allocation process will then run through five scheduled rounds. Candidates should track the official portal during the admission period since IIT Bombay states that the seat allotment dates remain tentative.

UCEED Counselling Eligibility 2027

Only candidates who qualify UCEED 2027 and meet the B.Des admission conditions can participate in the admission process. Candidates must have obtained a UCEED 2027 rank and passed Class XII or an equivalent examination in 2026 or 2027. The participating institutes follow different subject requirements for B.Des admission, so candidates should check the institute-wise conditions before filling preferences.

UCEED Counselling B.Des Application Process 2027

Qualified candidates must complete a common B.Des application through the IIT Bombay Admissions Portal. The application starts on March 15, 2027. Candidates must enter their personal details, select participating institutes in order of preference and upload the required documents. They can edit their application and institute preferences until the application closing date. After the deadline, IIT Bombay will treat all submitted choices and information as final.

Candidates can refer to the UCEED Application Process for the examination registration process and related requirements. The B.Des admission application remains a separate process after the UCEED result.

UCEED Counselling Participating Institutes 2027

UCEED 2027 qualified candidates can apply for B.Des programmes at seven participating institutes. Candidates must arrange their institute preferences through the common application form. Seat allocation later uses these preferences along with AIR, category and seat availability.

Note: Candidates should check the institute-specific Class XII subject requirements before finalising their preference order. IIT Bombay, IIT Delhi, IIT Hyderabad and IIT Indore accept candidates from all streams, subject to the stated admission conditions.

UCEED Counselling Documents Required 2027

Candidates must upload digital copies of the documents requested in the common B.Des application. The required documents include the UCEED scorecard, qualifying examination mark sheet, photograph and signature. Candidates must upload category and other supporting documents where applicable. Incorrect or incomplete information can lead to rejection of the application.

Important: Candidates should keep clear digital copies of all required documents before starting the B.Des application. The admitting institutes will verify documents during the admission process.

UCEED Counselling Seat Allotment Process 2027

IIT Bombay will conduct five rounds of joint seat allocation. The authority will provisionally allot seats based on the candidate's UCEED 2027 AIR, category and institute preferences. Selected candidates will receive provisional allotment letters through their registered email addresses. Candidates must pay the required fee within the specified deadline to retain the allotted seat.

Note: IIT Bombay can close the allocation process before all five rounds if all available seats are filled. Candidates should follow the payment deadline shown for their allotted round.

Freeze and Float in UCEED Counselling 2027

IIT Bombay uses Freeze and Float options during the joint seat allocation process. Candidates who receive their first-choice institute can accept the seat through Freeze or decline the offer. Candidates who receive a lower preference can accept the allotted seat through Freeze or accept it with the Float option for consideration for a higher preference in later rounds.

Important: If a candidate receives the first-choice institute and declines it, the current allocation gets cancelled and the candidate will not participate in later rounds. The Float option remains active until the Round IV payment deadline.

UCEED Counselling 2027 Seat Acceptance Fee

Candidates who receive a seat must pay the prescribed seat acceptance amount within the deadline. IIT Bombay has fixed the amount at INR 65,000 for GEN, EWS and OBC-NCL candidates and INR 20,000 for SC, ST and PwD candidates. These amounts include a INR 5,000 processing fee. IIT Bombay states that the processing fee is non-refundable and non-transferable.

Note: Candidates must pay the complete amount within the deadline. Failure to pay the fee or declining admission will cancel the allotment, and the candidate will not be considered for the next round under the stated rules.

UCEED Counselling Seat Withdrawal Rules 2027

Candidates can withdraw from the allocation process within the permitted withdrawal period. IIT Bombay allows withdrawal through the end of Round IV. The refund amount after applicable cancellation and processing charges is INR 60,000 for GEN, EWS and OBC-NCL candidates and INR 15,000 for SC, ST and PwD candidates. The ₹5,000 cancellation and processing charge is deducted from the original payment.

Important: The withdrawal facility does not continue after the final seat allotment round. IIT Bombay states that candidates cannot withdraw or decline an accepted or allotted seat after the announcement of the last round.

UCEED Counselling Seat Matrix 2027

The final seat matrix for the 2027-28 academic year is not available yet. The UCEED 2027 seat allotment page currently displays the previous academic year's 245-seat matrix as a reference. Candidates should not treat those figures as the final 2027-28 intake. IIT Bombay will publish the final seat matrix when it becomes available.

UCEED Counselling 2027 Admission Process After Seat Allotment

The seat offered through the online allocation process remains provisional until the candidate completes the required payment, document verification and institute formalities. The admitting institute will verify the candidate's documents during admission. Candidates must follow the instructions issued by the institute after accepting the allotted seat.Candidates should keep their UCEED scorecard, Class XII documents, category certificates and identity documents ready for verification. They should check the institute's admission instructions after receiving the allotment offer.

UCEED Counselling Important Points 2027

Candidates should track the B.Des application deadline, institute preference deadline, allotment result and payment deadline separately. Missing a payment deadline can cancel the allotted seat.
