UCEED Eligibility Criteria 2027: Age Limit, Qualification & Attempts

UCEED Eligibility 2027 allows students from Science, Commerce and Arts & Humanities to appear for the entrance exam. Candidates must meet the age limit, qualifying examination and attempt rules. Class 12 candidates who passed in 2026 or will appear for the qualifying examination in 2027 can apply. The admission subject requirements vary across participating institutes.

Note: Eligibility to appear for UCEED and eligibility for B.Des admission at a particular institute are separate. Candidates should check the subject requirements before selecting institutes.

UCEED Educational Qualification 2027

UCEED 2027 eligibility requires candidates to meet the Class 12 qualification and appearance criteria set by IIT Bombay. Candidates who passed Class 12 in 2026 or will appear for the qualifying examination for the first time in 2027 can apply. Candidates who first appeared in 2025 or earlier are not eligible.

UCEED Age Limit 2027

Candidates in the OPEN, EWS and OBC-NCL categories must be born on or after October 1, 2002. SC, ST and PwD candidates receive a five-year age relaxation and must be born on or after October 1, 1997.

Which Streams Are Eligible for UCEED 2027?

UCEED 2027 does not restrict exam eligibility to Science students. Students from Science, Commerce, Arts & Humanities and other recognised streams can appear if they meet the prescribed eligibility conditions.

Note: A candidate can appear for UCEED from any eligible stream, but the candidate cannot apply to every participating institute without meeting its Class 12 subject requirements.

UCEED 2027 Number of Attempts

UCEED 2027 allows a candidate to appear for the examination a maximum of two times. Both attempts must be made in consecutive years. The UCEED score remains valid for one year and can be used only for admission in the corresponding academic year.

Note: The two-attempt rule applies to UCEED itself. Candidates must meet the other eligibility conditions, including the age limit and qualifying examination criteria, for each attempt.

UCEED Qualifying Examinations 2027

UCEED accepts Class 12 and several equivalent examinations recognised under the prescribed rules.

Note: Candidates with qualifications from outside India or from boards not covered by the prescribed list need the required equivalence certification.

UCEED 2027 Eligibility Criteria for B.Des Admission

Qualifying UCEED 2027 is one part of the B.Des admission criteria. Candidates must meet the age, UCEED rank and Class 12 requirements prescribed for admission. The required Class 12 subjects differ across the seven participating institutes. Candidates from all streams can appear for UCEED 2027, but students from Commerce or Arts & Humanities cannot seek B.Des admission at institutes that require Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics. Important: A Commerce or Arts & Humanities student can appear for UCEED 2027 and obtain a UCEED rank, but that rank does not override the Class 12 subject requirement of IIT Guwahati, IIT Roorkee or IIITDM Jabalpur. Such candidates can seek admission only at participating institutes whose B.Des eligibility accepts their Class 12 stream.
