UCEED Exam Pattern 2027: Part A, Part B, Questions & Marking Scheme

UCEED Exam Pattern 2027 has two compulsory parts, Part A and Part B. The paper carries 300 marks and runs for three hours. Part A has 57 computer-based questions for 200 marks. Part B has two questions for 100 marks. UCEED 2027 will be conducted on January 17, 2027, from 9 AM to 12 noon. IIT Bombay will conduct the exam at designated test centres across India.

Note: UCEED 2027 uses one three-hour question paper with separate time limits for Part A and Part B. Candidates must attempt both parts. IIT Bombay's official structure gives two hours to Part A and one hour to Part B.

UCEED Part A Exam Pattern 2027

Part A carries 200 marks and runs for two hours. It contains three sections: Numerical Answer Type, Multiple Select Questions and Multiple Choice Questions. Candidates answer Part A on a computer.

Note: The three sections use different response formats and marking rules. Candidates should understand each format before the exam.

UCEED NAT Questions 2027

The NAT section has 14 questions carrying 56 marks. Each correct answer carries four marks. IIT Bombay does not apply negative marking to NAT questions.

Candidates do not receive answer choices for NAT questions. They enter the numerical answer through the virtual keyboard shown on the computer screen.

Note: Candidates should enter only the required numerical answer. The section does not use the negative marking applied to MCQs or the penalty rule used for MSQs.

UCEED MSQ Questions 2027

The MSQ section has 15 questions carrying 60 marks. Each question has four options, and one or more options can be correct. The section uses partial marking.

Candidates receive full marks when they select all correct options and no incorrect option. Partial marks apply when they select only correct options but miss some correct choices.

Note: The -1 mark applies in all other response cases. Candidates should check every option before submitting an MSQ.

UCEED MCQ Questions 2027

The MCQ section contains 28 questions for 84 marks. Each question has four options and only one correct answer. A correct response earns three marks. An incorrect response attracts a 0.71 mark deduction. An unattempted question receives zero marks.

Note: MCQs carry the highest total marks within Part A. The negative marking makes random selection risky in this section.

UCEED Part B Exam Pattern 2027

Part B carries 100 marks and runs for one hour. It contains two questions, one on Sketching and one on Design Aptitude. The questions appear on the computer screen, but candidates write or draw their answers in the answer booklet provided at the test centre.

Note: Part B answers receive evaluation only for candidates who qualify the Part A cutoff. IIT Bombay evaluates the submitted Part B answer booklet for eligible candidates.

UCEED Sketching Question 2027

The Sketching question carries 50 marks. It tests a candidate's ability to represent a given subject through drawing. The response uses the physical answer booklet supplied at the examination centre.

Candidates should focus on proportion, perspective, composition and clear representation. The question tests drawing ability within a design examination context.

UCEED Design Aptitude Question 2027

The Design Aptitude question carries 50 marks. It tests how candidates respond to a design situation or problem. Candidates need to communicate their idea clearly through the required response format.

The question does not follow the objective format used in Part A. Candidates should read the task carefully and present the required design response within the one-hour Part B window.

UCEED 2027 Marking Scheme

The UCEED marking scheme differs across NAT, MSQ and MCQ questions. Part B uses subjective evaluation rather than the fixed marks-per-option system used in Part A.

Note: Part A contributes 200 marks and Part B contributes 100 marks. The complete UCEED paper carries 300 marks.

UCEED 2027 Part A and Part B Time Division

UCEED 2027 follows fixed time limits for both parts. Candidates get two hours for Part A and one hour for Part B.

Candidates cannot treat the three-hour duration as one unrestricted block. The paper follows separate time limits for each part. The official UCEED structure gives Part A a maximum time of 120 minutes and Part B a maximum time of 60 minutes.

UCEED Part A vs Part B

Part A and Part B test different skills and use different answer formats. Part A checks objective responses through three question types. Part B checks drawing and design aptitude through two subjective questions.

Note: Both parts form part of the same three-hour examination. Candidates need to prepare for objective reasoning and subjective design responses.

How Many Questions Are There in UCEED 2027?

UCEED 2027 has 59 questions in total. Part A contains 57 questions, while Part B contains two questions.

Note: The 59-question count combines the objective questions in Part A and the two subjective questions in Part B.
