FAQs

Does the B.Tech Printing Technology syllabus cover both the conventional and digital printing techniques?

Yup, the syllabus generates a wide comprehension of the students in the entire range of printing technologies comprehension. It includes conventional ones like letterpress, offset, screen, flexographic, gravure printing, and more modern digital models, like inkjet printing, laser printing. This will make the graduates very conversant with both traditional and industrial trends and so they will be versatile to fit in any job position in the transitioning printing industry.

Do you have hands-on lab classes in each semester?

Of course, practical work in laboratories is an essential part of the program during the whole four-year period. The practical sessions that students take on a regular basis are in the field of prepress operations, handling of color, and testing of printing materials and pressroom practices. The instruction at these labs is aimed at the maintenance of theoretical knowledge, training of proficient technique, and introduction to equipment and processes used in the industry so that the students know how to work professionally.

Is the program required to have industrial training or an internship?

Yes, in most universities industrial training or internships are a ‘must-take', and in most cases it is at the last semesters of the course. This element will enable the students to direct intimacy with the real world printing settings and what to expect about the printing procedure and also make interaction with the individuals working in the printing industry. The experience also not only refines the skills and expertise both technical and managerial but also allows the students to forge important industry contacts and make them employable after graduation.

Which elective subjects are there in the syllabus?

The optional courses that are available customarily denote emergent as well as division areas in the printing business. Electives include adverts and brand management, security printing, digital imaging, packaging technology, publication of books and quality control. Such electives enable students to customize their studies on their desired professions and needs of the industry which gives them the competitive advantage in the niche markets.
