The official scorecard, including sectional and overall scaled scores, is generally available for download within 48 hours of the exam. The official NMAT Result 2026 will provide both section-wise and overall scaled scores. Candidates will receive an email notification once their scorecard is ready. The scorecard will include their scaled scores for each section and overall NMAT score.

NMAT questions are selected from a question pool based on a candidate’s performance on previously answered questions. This adaptive approach means that the difficulty level of subsequent questions is adjusted to the candidate’s estimated ability. As a result, higher-performing candidates may generally receive more difficult questions than lower-performing candidates.

For scoring, the exam first estimates a candidate’s ability using a probabilistic model and then converts the estimate into a scaled score ranging from 12 to 120 for each section. Candidates can also check NMAT Rank Predictor to predict their expected rank using score and NMAT College Predictor to predict which college they can get with their score.

NMAT 2026 Scaled Score

NMAT by GMAC reports scores using a scaled scoring system. Questions are selected from the question pool based on a candidate's performance on previously answered questions. The questions are targeted to the candidate's estimated ability level. GMAC first calculates the candidate's final ability estimate using a probabilistic model based on modern exam theory and then converts the estimate into a scaled score. Each NMAT section has a scaled score range of 12 to 120, while the total score ranges from 36 to 360. The three sections: Language Skills, Quantitative Skills and Logical Reasoning, contribute equally to the total score.

The NMAT scorecard includes the candidate's scaled section scores and total score. The scorecard is available for download within 48 hours of taking the exam, and candidates are notified by email when it is ready.

  • During NMAT registration, candidates can select schools in the School Preferences section to send their NMAT scores. Score sending to five schools is included in the registration fee, while additional score reports can be purchased separately.
  • Candidates should check the official website of each target B-school for its eligibility requirements, application deadlines, admission process and NMAT score acceptance policy. These requirements and policies may vary by institution and can change over time.
  • An NMAT score is used by participating business schools as part of their admission process. However, NMAT by GMAC does not define a single admission process or cutoff applicable to every participating school.
