GATE 2026 Exam Centres: This Year, IIT Guwahati is going to conduct the GATE 2026 exam. The institution will release the list of GATE 2026 Exam Centres soon along with the official information brochure. Both Indian & foreign candidates need to take the GATE 2026 in any of the exam centres in India, as there would be no international GATE exam centres. Test takers can choose up to three preferred GATE exam cities during the time of GATE 2026 Registration. GATE 2026 Exam Centres
The GATE 2026 Exam Centres will be allotted based on the preferences given during the application process. Candidates can choose three cities from the same GATE zone while filling out the form. There are no international exam centres this year, so all candidates, including foreign nationals, must take the exam in India. GATE 2026 Exam Centres for Foreign Candidates
There will be no GATE 2026 exam centres outside India for foreign candidates. As per the official announcement, all foreign nationals who wish to appear for the GATE 2026 exam must travel to India to take the test. The GATE authorities have discontinued international centres due to operational reasons. Therefore, both foreign and Indian nationals residing abroad must select their preferred Indian cities as exam centres during the application process. Candidates are advised to check the list of available Indian exam cities carefully before applying.
How to Add/Choose GATE 2026 Exam Centre?
Candidates are advised to follow the steps given below to add or choose GATE 2026 Exam Centre. The steps are as given below-
- Visit the official GOAPS website.
- Log in using the Enrollment ID/Email ID, Password, and Captcha.
- Click on the "Change Examination City" option.
- Select up to three cities from the list of available Indian exam centres. The first and second choices must be from the same GATE zone. The third choice can be from any GATE zone.
- Pay a fee of INR 500 to confirm the changes.
Note: The GATE committee may change or allot different cities based on administrative convenience, regardless of the candidate’s selected preferences.
