The GATE Exam Centres 2027 list has been officially published within the Information Brochure by IIT Madras on the official portal GATE 2027. Both domestic and international candidates are required to select an authorized GATE examination centre within designated host cities across India. Students need to note that physical international test centres have remained discontinued. Candidates can select up to three preferred test cities in order of preference during GOAPS registration. The allotted GATE examination centre, including the specific venue name and exact address, will be printed on the official GATE 2027 Admit Card.
To build exam readiness and practice under realistic conditions, candidates often supplement self-study by enrolling in leading GATE coaching centres or taking national-level test series that mirror the actual computer based environment. The GATE 2027 exam will take place across three consecutive weekends on February 6, 7, 13, 14, 20, and 21, 2027.

GATE Exam Centres 2027
The GATE 2027 Exam Centres is allotted based on the preferences given during the application process. Candidates can choose three cities from the same GATE zone while filling out the form. There are no international exam centres this year, so all candidates, including foreign nationals, must take the exam in India. GATE 2026 exam centres will be categorized under eight different zones, each managed by a different IIT or IISc.

GATE Zone-Wise Exam Cities 2027
There are eight zonal centres of GATE exams, namely, IISc Bangalore, IIT Delhi, IIT Bombay, IIT Guwahati, IIT Roorkee, IIT Madras, IIT Kanpur, & IIT Kharagpur. GATE Exam Centres 2027 for Foreign Candidates
There will be no GATE 2027 exam centres outside India for foreign candidates. As per the official announcement, all foreign nationals who wish to appear for the GATE 2026 exam must travel to India to take the test. The GATE authorities have discontinued international centres due to operational reasons. Therefore, both foreign and Indian nationals residing abroad must select their preferred Indian cities as exam centres during the application process. Candidates are advised to check the list of available Indian exam cities carefully before applying.
How to Add/Choose GATE Exam Centre 2027?
Candidates are advised to follow the steps given below to add or choose GATE 2026 Exam Centre. The steps are as given below-
- Visit the official GOAPS website.
- Log in using the Enrollment ID/Email ID, Password, and Captcha.
- Click on the "Change Examination City" option.
- Select up to three cities from the list of available Indian exam centres. The first and second choices must be from the same GATE zone. The third choice can be from any GATE zone.
- Pay a fee of INR 500 to confirm the changes.
Note: The GATE committee may change or allot different cities based on administrative convenience, regardless of the candidate’s selected preferences.
