MICAT 2026 will be conducted in two phases. Mudra Institute of Communication, Ahmedabad, will conduct Phase I on December 6, 2025. Phase II will take place on February 13, 2026. MICA Admission Test (MICAT) is a computer-based test (CBT) conducted for MICA's PGP courses, including Post Graduate Diploma in Management–Communications (PGDM-C) and Post Graduate Diploma in Management (PGDM). The MICAT exam is conducted twice a year in 48 cities across the country. The MICAT exam is a collection of objective and subjective questions in various sections. The examination consists of three sections, namely:

MICAT Selection Procedure 2026
Candidates who qualify for the entrance test will have to appear for the General Exercise (GE) and Personal Interview (PI) rounds. During GE and PI, candidates need to demonstrate their ability to conceive and express ideas that can be translated into workable action plans and help a given business in a concrete and meaningful way. The GE and PI are tests conducted to know how candidates will solve a real-world problem with real-life consequences. The MICAT selection process is divided into 3 stages:

MICAT Admission Procedure 2026
Step 1. CAT/XAT/GMAT - Candidates have to pass and secure at least a particular minimum score in one of these three exams to be considered eligible for admission at MICA. While filling the MICAT application form, candidates will have to enter either their CAT or GMAT score or their XAT registration number in the form.
Step 2. MICA Admission Test (MICAT) - Here, candidates have to appear for the MICAT exam held by MICA Ahmedabad. The MICA admission test will be divided into the following sections:
- Section A: Psychometric Test
- Section B: (has 4 sub-sections) - Verbal Ability, Quantitative Ability and Data Interpretation, General awareness; Divergent and Convergent Thinking
- Section C: Descriptive Test
Step 3. Group Exercise (GE) and Personal Interview (PI) - After passing the entrance exam, candidates will be invited to take part in the Group Exercise and Personal Interview.
Shortlisting of Candidates for GE and PI
- Section A of MICAT (Psychometric test) is a qualifier.
- The institute will only consider the performance of those candidates on CAT/XAT/GMAT who have qualified for the psychometric test. For CAT/XAT, the minimum cutoff will be taken into consideration, whereas for GMAT, the institute will take the scores into account.
- Section B of MICAT exam will be assessed based on the candidate’s performance in the CAT/XAT/GMAT.
- Those candidates who pass based on the relative performance are subject to securing a minimum cutoff (normalised scores). Those who pass Section B of the MICAT entrance exam 2026 shall have their Section C of the MICAT assessed. The institute will release the cutoff for each section of the test.
- Those candidates who qualify based on points 1, 2, 3, and 4 above (based on relative performance, subject to a minimum cutoff (as per normalised scores) of section C of MICAT) will be shortlisted for GE and PI. Shortlisted candidates will be invited to GE and PI at the different campuses - Ahmedabad, Delhi, Bengaluru, Kolkata & Mumbai. (The GE & PI candidate list is prepared based on the composite score formula of 35% weightage of CAT/XAT/GMAT and 25% weightage of MICAT scores).
