MICAT 2026 will be conducted in two phases. Mudra Institute of Communication, Ahmedabad, will administer Phase I on the first Saturday of December 2025. Phase II will take place on the last Saturday of January 2026. Candidates are allowed to appear in both phases. The authority will release MICAT 2026 Application Form in September 2025. Phase II registration window will be activated around November 2025.
MICA Admission Test (MICAT) is a computer-based test (CBT) conducted for MICA's PGP courses, including Post Graduate Diploma in Management–Communications (PGDM-C) and Post Graduate Diploma in Management (PGDM). The MICAT exam is conducted twice a year in 48 cities across the country. The MICAT exam is a collection of objective and subjective questions in various sections. The examination consists of three sections, namely:
- Section A: Psychometric Test
- Section B: Descriptive Test
- Section C: Divergent and Convergent Thinking; Verbal Ability, Quantitative Ability, and Data Interpretation, and General Awareness.
MICA conducts the MICAT examination in two phases, namely MICAT I and MICAT II. A better score of the two MICAT scores is considered. Admission to MICA takes place through a single-tier filtering process: CAT/XAT/GMAT performance; performance in the MICAT exam; and performance in GE and PI. Qualifying Entrance Exam for MICAT Eligibility Criteria
Candidates must have a valid score in any of the following mentioned entrance exams as per the MICAT 2026 eligibility criteria:
- GMAT (score of GMAT exam will be considered from the year 2023 onwards)

MICAT Selection Procedure 2026
Candidates who qualify for the entrance test will have to appear for General Exercise (GE) and Personal Interview (PI) rounds. During GE and PI, candidates need to demonstrate their ability to conceive and express ideas that can be translated into workable action plans and help a given business in a concrete and meaningful way. The GE and PI is a test conducted to know how candidates will solve a real-world problem with real-life consequences. The MICAT selection process is divided into 3 stages:

- MICA Admission Test (MICAT)

MICAT Admission Procedure 2026
Step 1. CAT/XAT/GMAT - Candidates have to pass and secure at least a particular minimum score in one of these three exams to be considered eligible for admission at MICA. While filling the MICAT application form, candidates will have to enter either their CAT or GMAT score or their XAT registration number in the form.
Step 2. MICA Admission Test (MICAT) - Here, candidates have to appear for the MICAT exam held by MICA Ahmedabad. The MICA admission test will be divided into the following sections:
- Section A: Psychometric Test
- Section B: (has 4 sub-sections) - Verbal Ability, Quantitative Ability and Data Interpretation, General awareness; Divergent and Convergent Thinking
- Section C: Descriptive Test
Step 3. Group Exercise (GE) and Personal Interview (PI) - After passing the entrance exam, candidates will be invited to take part in the Group Exercise and Personal Interview.
Shortlisting of Candidates for GE and PI
- Section A of MICAT (Psychometric test) is a qualifier.
- The institute will only consider those candidate’s performance on CAT/XAT/GMAT who have qualified the psychometric test. For CAT/XAT, the minimum cut off will be taken into consideration, whereas for GMAT, the institute will take the scores into account.
- Section B of MICAT exam will be assessed based on the candidate’s performance in the CAT/XAT/GMAT.
- Those candidates who pass based on the relative performance subject to securing a minimum cut-off (normalized scores)) of Section B of the MICAT entrance exam 2026 shall have their Section C of MICAT Assessed. The institute will release the cut off for each section of the test.
- Those candidates who qualify based on points 1, 2, 3 and 4 above (based on relative performance subject to a minimum cutoff (as per normalized scores) of section C of MICAT) will be shortlisted for GE and PI. Shortlisted candidates will be invited to GE and PI at the different campuses - Ahmedabad, Delhi, Bengaluru, Kolkata & Mumbai. (The GE & PI candidate list is prepared based on the composite score formula of 20% weightage of CAT/XAT/GMAT and 30% weightage of MICAT scores).
