IIT Bombay has one of the highest placement rates. However, the placement rate in 2024 was 75% and in 2023 it was 82%. The placement rate had a decline of 7%. The institute secured the lowest package of INR 4 LPA in 2024, a decrease of approximately 33.33% compared to the lowest package of INR 6 LPA secured in 2023.

As per the placement report of 2024, IIT Bombay secured a placement of 83.39% for the B.Tech students of batch 2024. 930 students registered for the placements. 819 students participated out of which 683 students were successfully placed. Companies from IT/Software sector offered the highest no. of jobs, ie, 178 offers followed by companies from Engineering & Technology sector offering 159 jobs. Recruiters from the Finance sector made 80 offers, Consulting sector made 65 offers, and Data Analytics & Data Science sectors, each offered 27 jobs. The AI/ML, Services, and Operations sectors provided the lowest offers, ie, 4 jobs each.

Students at IIT Bombay completed 1267 internships in 2024. Out of which, 300 students were offered PPOs and 258 students accepted. The institute conducts internships in two phases: Summer Internships and Winter Internships. In 2024, IITB secured 1178 summer internship offers and 89 winter internship offers. Summer internship offers saw an increase of approximately 22.33% compared to 2023. Meanwhile, winter internship offers saw a decrease of approximately 36.88% compared to 2023.

IIT Bombay secured a 100% placement for the MBA batch of 2024. SJSOM, Management School of IITB saw a participation of 48 companies, out of which 11 were new recruiters. The highest package secured was INR 72 LPA, an increase of approximately 33.33% compared to 2023.

388 companies participated in the IIT Bombay Placement 2024. Out of which 364 companies made 1475 offers. 78 offers were made from international companies, 775 jobs were offered by Indian MNCs, and 622 offers were made by Indian companies. 106 companies from Engineering & Technology made the highest number of offers, ie, 430 jobs, followed by 84 companies from IT/Software offering 307 jobs.

The highest salary package offered at IIT Bombay in 2024 was above INR 1 crore per annum, with 22 such offers made across various sectors, including tech and consulting.

A total of 388 companies participated, and 364 made job offers during the placement drive, reflecting an increase from 324 companies in 2023.

The average package stood at INR 23.50 LPA in 2024, which marks an increase compared to INR 21.82 LPA in 2023.

A total of 78 international job offers were accepted in 2024, up from 65 in 2023, showing increased global interest in IIT Bombay graduates.

The placement rate for B.Tech students was 83.39%, with 683 out of 819 participants successfully placed across various sectors.

In 2024, 258 PPOs were accepted, a 32.99% increase compared to 2023, showing better internship-to-job conversion.

The lowest package offered was around INR 4 LPA, a decline from the lowest package of INR 6 LPA in 2023.
