BTech in Jammu and Kashmir Admission Process

The admissions process for each engineering college in Jammu and Kashmir is essentially the same. For admission to Jammu’s BTech colleges, which follow a similar process, students interested in engineering programs must first take an entrance exam and then move on to a counselling round. For your reference, the IIT-Jammu engineering admissions process is listed below.

Step 1: Students must register for the JEE Main exam by completing the necessary information on the NTA website. Then, on the scheduled day and time, appear for the test.

Step 2: Determine your eligibility after waiting for the JEE Mains results to be released. If you qualify, register for the JEE Advanced exam on the NTA website in the same way as for JEE Main.

Step 3: Attend the JEE Advanced exam on the scheduled day and time. Wait for the results to be announced, then assess your eligibility. The cut-off may vary each year, so it's best to check the NTA website.

Step 4: After passing the JEE Advanced exam, you need to sign up for the JoSAA (Joint Seat Allocation Authority) counselling and appear on the appointed day. During the counselling session, a list of colleges and their branches will be given to the students. This selection list is provided based on the score obtained on the JEE Advanced exam.

Step 5: Select the IIT Jammu branch you wish to enrol in.

Step 6: IIT Jammu will release a merit list of the selected shortlisted students. The number of students who applied for a particular course and the number of seats available in that branch determine this. Candidates with higher ranks are given preference.

Step 7: After being chosen for additional consideration, you will need to visit the college campus to have your documents verified.

Step 8: After the documents are verified, you will be admitted. You will then have to pay the admission fee to secure your place in the course.
