AILET 2027 is the entrance examination conducted by National Law University Delhi (NLU Delhi) for admission to its B.A. LL.B. (Hons.) and LL.M. programmes for the academic session 2027-28. NLU Delhi has announced that AILET 2027 will be conducted on December 13, 2026, from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM. The AILET 2027 registration process started on August 7, 2026, and candidates can submit the application form until November 10, 2026.
For the B.A. LL.B. programme, candidates must qualify Class 12 or an equivalent examination with the prescribed minimum marks. The LL.M. programme requires an LL.B. or equivalent law degree. NLU Delhi has announced 110 seats on AILET merit for B.A. LL.B. and 70 seats on AILET merit for LL.M., apart from seats available for Foreign Nationals and OCI/PIO candidates.
The official notification was issued on July 23, 2026, and states that the admission notice and online application forms would be available from August 7, 2026.

Note: The admission announcement specifies November 10, 2026 as the last date for regular applications. Foreign Nationals and OCI/PIO candidates have a separate application deadline of April 30, 2027.
AILET 2027: Registration Process
Candidates can complete the AILET 2027 registration online through the NLU Delhi admission portal. The process involves creating a registration account, filling in the required details, uploading documents, selecting test-centre preferences, paying the application fee and submitting the application form. The key steps are given below:

AILET 2027: Admission Process
The AILET 2027 admission process will begin with online registration, followed by application form submission, admit card release and the entrance examination. The AILET 2027 exam is scheduled to be conducted on December 6, 2026. After the exam, NLU Delhi will announce the result and shortlist candidates for counselling based on their merit and eligibility. Candidates shortlisted for counselling will have to complete the required registration and counselling formalities before the seat allotment. After AILET 2027 seat allotment, candidates must pay the prescribed admission fee and complete document verification within the specified deadline to confirm their admission to NLU Delhi.

B.A. LL.B. (Hons.)
Candidates seeking admission to the five-year B.A. LL.B. programme must have passed the Senior Secondary School Examination under the 10+2 system or an equivalent examination.

AILET 2027 Exam Pattern
For B.A. LL.B., the AILET 2027 exam pattern consists of 150 multiple-choice questions carrying 150 marks. The duration of the examination is 120 minutes. The paper is divided into English Language, Current Affairs & General Knowledge, and Logical Reasoning.

AILET 2027 has negative marking, with 0.25 marks deducted for every incorrect answer. Legal principles may be used in the Logical Reasoning section, but NLU Delhi states that the examination does not require prior legal knowledge or technical understanding.
For LL.M., the AILET 2027 paper will consist of 100 MCQs carrying 100 marks, covering different branches of law. The examination duration is 120 minutes, with 0.25 marks deducted for each incorrect answer.
AILET Syllabus 2027
The B.A. LL.B. AILET Syllabus 2027 covers three sections:

AILET 2027 Seats
NLU Delhi has announced the following seats for the 2027-28 admission cycle:

The 10 seats for each programme comprise five seats for Foreign Nationals and five for OCI/PIO candidates. These candidates are exempted from AILET, subject to the conditions prescribed by NLU Delhi. One additional supernumerary seat is also specified for Kashmiri Migrants.
AILET 2027 Application Fee
The AILET 2027 Application Fee is INR 3,000 for general/other candidates and INR 1,000 for SC/ST and PwD candidates. Eligible SC/ST and women BPL applicants are exempted from the application fee.
