The CMAT Result 2026 is expected to be released in February 2026 at exams.nta.ac.in/CMAT/. To download it, candidates need to log in using their application number and date of birth. How To Calculate Scores In CMAT 2026 Exam?

According to the CMAT marking scheme, each question carries +4 marks. Refer to the information below to see how scores are calculated and converted to percentiles.

• For each correct answer, +4 marks are given
• For each incorrect answer, a -1 mark is deducted
• For each unanswered question, no mark is given.
• The total CMAT score is calculated by totalling the marks earned or deducted from each question.

CMAT Result 2026: Score Normalisation

In CMAT 2026, the score normalisation procedure will be based on the scaled score. This process compares candidates’ scores across multiple sessions. Percentile scores are based on the performance of all test takers. The marks obtained are transformed into a scale ranging from 100 to 0 for each candidate's session. The Percentile Scores are calculated up to 7 decimal places to avoid ties between two or more candidates. Preparation of the CMAT Result is conducted using the following formula:

Total Percentile: 100 X No. of candidates who appeared from the session with a raw score EQUAL TO OR LESS than Total Score / Total No. of candidates who appeared in the session.

For example, if approximately 50,000 candidates appear in CMAT and a candidate scores 350 marks, then their CMAT percentile score will be: 100 × 49000/50000 = 98%.

CMAT does not follow any standardised format of counselling. After the result declaration, a National Merit Ranking (All India Rank) will be made based on the score secured against the Total score. Once the merit list is out, candidates must start registering to CMAT score-accepting colleges separately. The next steps are as follows:

• After receiving applications from candidates, the admission authorities shortlist them based on their CMAT scores.
• Qualified candidates are invited to participate in the Group Discussion (GD) and Personal Interview (PI) rounds.
• In the GD round, candidates will be divided into groups of 8 to 10 members. They will be given a topic to debate, and the moderators will evaluate their performance.
• In the PI round, candidates’ confidence, knowledge, communication and problem-solving skills will be assessed.
• The final selection will be based on candidates’ CMAT scores, performance in the GD and PI rounds, and past academic records.
• The merit list will be prepared by the colleges again, and selected candidates will be informed of the next steps in the admission process.
