SNAP 2026 Preparation

The preparation for the SNAP exam must be based on the latest exam pattern. Candidates should follow section-specific preparation tips rather than going for generic methods. The preparation plan should be built around timed mock tests, which will help candidates understand the pattern of the questions and practice time management. Candidates should also check the section-wise SNAP Preparation Tips 2026 to understand how each section should be approached to score well in the exam. To start with the preparation, candidates should:

  • Prioritise the Analytical and Logical Reasoning section as it carries 20 out of total 60 marks. For this section, focus on puzzles, arrangements, and other reasoning-type questions.
  • Ethics, Morality and Values is a new section introduced in SNAP 2026, which carries 10 marks. For this section, candidates must practice scenario-based questions such as fairness, integrity, decision-making, etc.
  • SNAP consists of 60 questions in 60 minutes, which gives an average of one minute per question. Hence, candidates should practice time management and avoid wasting too much time on difficult questions.
  • There is a negative marking of 0.25 marks. Hence, candidates should avoid making unsupported guesses or rushed calculations.

SNAP 2026 Question Papers

Candidates who are going to appear for the SNAP 2026 exam must go through the previous years' question papers. This will help them understand which type of questions are asked in the exam along with the paper pattern. Solving the previous years' questions will also help candidates practice time management and how to tackle difficult questions within the given time limit. The year wise SNAP question papers can be downloaded by clicking on the link given below:

SNAP 2026 Selection Process

The selection process for SNAP 2026 is conducted individually by each institute. If shortlisted for a programme applied to, the candidate would then need to participate in the further admission process (GE-PI) of that particular programme. Candidates are allowed to choose the programme of their choice offered by the various Institutes of SIU at the time of registration. The steps included in the SNAP selection process include:

  • SNAP CBT Test: Candidates will have to appear for the SNAP exam. The best of three attempts will be considered for shortlisting.
  • Shortlisting: Based on overall SNAP percentile and institute cutoff, candidates will be shortlisted for admission. Each institute will release separate cutoffs, programme-wise.
  • Merit List: A merit list will be prepared and released on the respective institute’s website. The merit list will be based on category-wise cut-off released by institutes. The merit list consists of the names of all candidates who have been shortlisted for admission. A wait list will also be released, which will depend on the vacant seats available.
  • Selection Rounds: Each institute will conduct its separate selection process. Based on a candidate’s overall percentile, they can be selected for one or more programmes. In this case, candidates will have to appear for GE-PI rounds for each programme separately.

The complete selection process has been explained in SNAP Counselling Process 2026.

SNAP 2026 FAQs

What is SNAP and who conducts it?

SNAP (Symbiosis National Aptitude Test) is a national-level MBA entrance exam conducted by Symbiosis International (Deemed University). It is a computer-based test for admission to MBA/PGDM programmes at Symbiosis institutes. Students can take up to three attempts, and the best score is considered.

Is SNAP only for Symbiosis colleges, or do other institutes accept it too?

SNAP is conducted by Symbiosis International (Deemed University) for admission to its own MBA programmes. It is the entrance test for 32 MBA programmes across 17 Symbiosis institutes, including SIBM Pune, SCMHRD and SIIB. It is not a general MBA exam accepted by other B-schools, so apply to non-Symbiosis colleges through CAT, XAT, CMAT or their own tests.

Is 37 a good score in SNAP?

Yes, 37/60 is a strong score. SNAP is out of 60 with negative marking, so 37 usually falls in the high-80s to mid-90s percentile range. As per analysis, 37 marks is placed at roughly the 94 to 97 percentile. That is competitive for institutes like SIIB Pune and SIBM Bengaluru. It is borderline for SIBM Pune and SCMHRD, whose reported cutoffs run higher. Percentiles vary by test slot and difficulty, so check the latest cutoffs for your target institute.

Can I change my SNAP test date or city after registration?

No. Once the registration fee is paid, requests to change the test date or city are not accepted. Allotment is first come, first served, so pay early and choose your dates and cities carefully. SIU may allot a nearby city in unavoidable circumstances.

Is it compulsory to appear in all three SNAP tests?

No. SNAP has three tests (13, 19, and 26 December 2026), but you can choose one, two, or all three. If you take more than one, your best score is used for the final percentile.

Is there an age limit for SNAP 2026?

The SNAP bulletin sets no general upper age limit. Some programmes may have their own conditions, such as work experience, defence status or partner-university requirements. Check the programme eligibility before paying the fee.

Can working professionals apply for SNAP?

Yes. There is no general upper age limit, so working professionals with a recognised bachelor’s degree can apply. Some programmes require specific work experience, so check the specialisation you want.
