TJEE 2027: Expected Exam Date, Application Form, Fee, Eligibility and Exam Pattern

The Tripura Board of Joint Entrance Examination (TBJEE) conducts the Tripura Joint Entrance Examination (TJEE) to prepare merit lists for admission to Engineering, Technological, Veterinary, Agriculture, Fisheries, Forestry, Paramedical and other professional degree courses, against seats available for the State of Tripura. Admission to a particular college is also subject to that institution's own eligibility norms and cut-off marks.

The TJEE 2027 notification is yet to be released. TJEE 2026 was held on 22 April 2026, the date fixed in the official prospectus, with a reported total of 4,731 candidates, and the result was declared on 22 May 2026. Until the 2027 prospectus comes out, the 2026 rules and schedule below are the best guide.

TJEE 2027 Highlights

TJEE 2027 Exam Date

TBJEE has not announced the TJEE 2027 exam date. The table below shows the tentative TJEE 2026 schedule from the official prospectus, the dates reported once the 2026 cycle was under way, and the expected TJEE 2027 timeline.

Note: The prospectus dates were tentative. The "as reported" dates come from education news portals (the extension to 7 March from FindMyCollege; the admit card, answer key and challenge dates from AglaSem) and have not been checked against TBJEE's own notices. TJEE 2027 dates will be confirmed only in the official TJEE 2027 notification.

TJEE 2027 Application Form

The TJEE application is submitted online only at the official TBJEE website; there is no printed form. In 2026, the prospectus fixed the online application window from 10 February (4:00 pm) to 18 February 2026. Only one application is allowed per candidate, and duplicate applications may lead to rejection.

How to Fill the TJEE Application Form

As per the TJEE 2026 prospectus, the application has the following stages:

1. Registration: Enter name, gender, date of birth and email ID. These cannot be changed after submission, so they must match the school admit card, mark sheets and certificates exactly. Note the registration number.
2. Create profile: Fill in personal and contact details, and upload the required files.
3. Fill the application: Enter qualification details, residency details and previous application details (if any), and choose the exam group and one of the eight exam centres.
4. Preview and edit: Check all details. The form cannot be edited after final submission.
5. Submit the application.
6. Pay the fee online by credit card, debit card or net banking. Money orders, DDs and IPOs are not accepted.
7. Print the acknowledgement. The acknowledgement page and admit card are not generated if the fee is not paid by the closing date.

A unique mobile number and email ID are required, as all communication from TBJEE is sent to them.

TJEE Application Fee

Processing charges and GST are payable in addition. The concession for all female candidates is described in the prospectus as a special measure by the Government of Tripura to encourage girl students. The fee is not refunded once paid. The TJEE 2027 fee will be confirmed in the new prospectus.

TJEE 2027 Eligibility Criteria

The TJEE 2026 eligibility criteria are given below. The TJEE 2027 prospectus will set the rules for the 2027 exam. For a longer explanation, see our TJEE eligibility criteria page.

Residency

As per the TJEE 2026 prospectus, it is desirable for the candidate to hold a Permanent Resident of Tripura Certificate (PRTC). If the candidate's PRTC is not available, the PRTC of the father or mother is essential. The following candidates are also eligible:

Educational Qualification

• Candidates must have passed, appeared or be due to appear in Class 12 in the exam year from TBSE, CBSE, ICSE or an equivalent board, with the subjects they wish to take in TJEE.
• To get a seat through TJEE, candidates must have passed Class 12 with a subject-wise pass in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics and/or Biology.
• Candidates with a compartment in any subject cannot get a seat until they submit a pass mark sheet. They may still register for counselling with a valid TJEE rank, but are considered only in subsequent rounds after submitting the improved pass mark sheet.

Other Conditions

• No upper age limit: Candidates of any age can appear if they meet the other criteria.
• Previous seat allotment: A candidate who was allotted a seat through TJEE in an earlier year cannot appear again unless the seat was surrendered within the specified time.
• Reservation: Seats are reserved for SC, ST, PwD and wards of ex-servicemen as per the Tripura government's Reservation Act. There is no OBC reservation in TJEE.

TJEE 2027 Exam Pattern

TJEE is an OMR-based exam with multiple choice questions, held on a single day in three shifts. Each subject has 30 compulsory questions of 4 marks each, so every subject carries 120 marks. The details below are from the TJEE 2026 prospectus.

Group-wise Marks

Group A candidates take shifts 1 and 3, Group B candidates take shifts 1 and 2, and Group C candidates take all three.

TJEE Marking Scheme

Each question has four options (A, B, C, D). The question booklet is in both English and Bengali; if the two versions differ, the English version is final. Question papers are set in three series (P, Q and R).

Exam Day Rules (TJEE 2026)

• The exam centre gate closes 30 minutes before the exam starts.
• The admit card must be carried to every session.
• Only a black or blue ballpoint pen may be used on the OMR sheet; gel pens, ink pens, pencils, whitener and erasers are not allowed.
• Calculators, mobile phones, other electronic devices, geometry boxes, bags, any paper, food and water are not allowed in the exam hall.
• Candidates cannot leave the hall in the first hour or the last 15 minutes of a paper.
• Group C candidates cannot leave the campus after the Biology paper; Group B candidates leave after Biology; Group A candidates enter for Mathematics after the Biology paper.
• There is no re-checking or re-evaluation of OMR sheets.

TJEE Syllabus

TBJEE sets the TJEE questions from its own syllabus, which is published on the official website. As per the TJEE 2026 prospectus, the syllabus for each subject is divided into 10 modules. Candidates should prepare from this official syllabus, as it may differ from the JEE Main syllabus or the NEET syllabus.

All four are Class 11 and 12 level topics. Candidates should download the module-wise syllabus from the TBJEE website once the TJEE 2027 prospectus is released.

TJEE Exam Centres

As per the TJEE 2026 prospectus, the exam is held at eight locations in Tripura: Agartala, Ambassa, Bishalgarh, Dharmanagar, Kailasahar, Khowai, Santirbazar and Udaipur. Candidates select one location while filling in the application form. Press reports on the 2026 result (Tripura Chronicle, Tripura24) put the number of exam centres at 15 across these locations. The exact venue is printed on the admit card.

TJEE Admit Card

The TJEE admit card is downloaded from the official website. The 2026 prospectus scheduled it for the second week of April 2026, and it was reported released on 8 April 2026. The admit card is not generated if the application fee is not paid by the closing date. Candidates must carry it to every exam session and show it to the invigilator on demand.

After downloading the admit card, candidates should check their name, roll number, photograph, group, exam centre and paper timings, and contact TBJEE immediately in case of any error.

TJEE Answer Key

TBJEE uploads the provisional answer key on its website after the exam. Candidates can challenge any answer by logging in to their account. Subject experts review the challenges, and the final answer key is used to evaluate the OMR sheets. The 2026 prospectus scheduled the provisional key for 26 April 2026 and the last date for challenges as 7 May 2026. Education portals later reported the key as released on 24 April 2026, with challenges accepted until 30 April 2026.

TJEE Result

The TJEE 2026 result was declared on 22 May 2026; the prospectus had scheduled it for the end of May. TBJEE does not allow any post-result review. The result for TJEE 2027 will be published on the official website.

How the TJEE Merit List Is Prepared

• Merit is based on Physics and Chemistry plus Mathematics for the PCM group, and Physics and Chemistry plus Biology for the PCB group.
• Candidates scoring less than 10 out of 360 are not placed on the merit list.
• A percentile score is published along with the rank.

The topper always gets the 100 percentile. Percentile is not the same as the percentage of marks scored.

TJEE 2026 Result Statistics: Reported Figures

News reports on the 2026 result (Tripura Chronicle, Tripura24, Careers360) put the total at 4,731 candidates across 15 exam centres. They disagree on whether 4,731 means applicants or candidates who actually sat the exam. Until TBJEE's own result abstract settles this, treat every number in this section as reported, not confirmed. The figures below are historical reference data only; they do not predict TJEE 2027 cut-offs or admission chances.

Gender-wise and Group-wise Figures (as reported)

These counts come from press coverage of the 2026 result. We have left out percentages because the base figure of 4,731 is unconfirmed.

Candidates who opted for both groups are counted in the PCM and PCB figures below, so group-wise counts overlap and should not be added together.

Group-wise Appeared and Merit-list Candidates

Each row covers one group only. A student who sat both groups shows up in both rows, so adding the two appeared figures (5,737) does not give a head count. Under the 2026 prospectus, anyone scoring below 10 out of 360 was kept off the merit list. TBJEE has not said yet whether the same cut-off applies in 2027.

What the 2026 results mean for TJEE 2027 candidates: TJEE maintains separate PCM and PCB merit lists. Candidates should assess their performance against the merit list of their own group and the course-wise seat matrix. A place on the merit list does not guarantee admission; seat allotment depends on rank, course eligibility, category and the seats available. Raw scores across the two groups should not be compared to judge paper difficulty or admission chances.

Counselling and Seat Allotment

TBJEE conducts online counselling for candidates on the TJEE merit lists, separately for PCM and PCB. In 2026, the PCM merit list had 1,745 candidates and the PCB merit list had 3,684; candidates who took both groups could appear on both lists. Counselling registration for TJEE 2026 was held in June 2026.

TJEE Counselling Process

As per the TJEE 2026 prospectus:

1. Online registration: After the result, candidates register on the counselling portal within the given dates. Counselling is held only for registered candidates.
2. Document upload: Candidates upload a scanned copy of the original Class 12 mark sheet and enter their total and subject-wise marks. PRTC, date of birth certificate and category, disability or ESM certificates are uploaded if not already submitted. Only scanned originals or DigiLocker-verified documents are accepted.
3. Scrutiny: TBJEE checks the documents. Only accepted candidates can fill in choices; rejected candidates are not considered for counselling.
4. Choice filling: Accepted candidates list their preferred courses and institutes in order, using the seat matrix on the website.
5. Seat allotment in rounds: Selected candidates receive nomination letters, and the sponsoring departments nominate them for admission.

Important Counselling Rules (TJEE 2026)

• Candidates must pass Theory and Practical separately in each subject of their group (PCM or PCB). A candidate who fails in either Physics or Chemistry cannot get any seat through TJEE.
• Candidates with a compartment in Class 12 can register with a valid rank, but are considered only in subsequent rounds after submitting the improved pass mark sheet. Until then, they cannot be allotted a seat.
• A candidate who does not register and fill in choices in the first round cannot take part in the second or later rounds.
• Selection for a course is subject to the eligibility criteria and cut-off marks, if any, of the institute that sponsors the seat.
• A candidate allotted a seat is not considered for further allotment unless the seat is surrendered.
• TBJEE can change a candidate's allotment if any discrepancy is found in the documents.

Candidates applying under the defence, deputation or ex-serviceman provisions need additional proof of residence and employment, as listed in the prospectus.

TJEE Seat Matrix

Seats come from sponsoring departments. Some are seats reserved by the Government of India and central agencies for the State of Tripura, and others are provided by state institutions. The number of seats is published on the TBJEE website during counselling, and reservation for SC, ST, PwD and wards of ex-servicemen follows the state Reservation Act.

Colleges Accepting TJEE Scores

Institutes that admit students through TJEE include Tripura Institute of Technology (TIT), Agartala for B.Tech courses and College of Agriculture, Tripura for state quota seats in B.Sc (Hons.) Agriculture. Not every course at these institutes is filled through TJEE, and participating institutes can change each year. The official TJEE seat matrix for the admission year is the final reference.

Preparation Tips for TJEE 2027

The plan below assumes TJEE 2027 falls in April again. If the date moves, shift each block to match.

A few habits that suit this exam's format:

• Follow the official syllabus: Prepare only the topics listed in the official TJEE syllabus.
• Practise with a timer: Physics and Chemistry are asked in one combined paper, so candidates should practise switching between both subjects within a single sitting.
• Analyse mistakes: Classify each mistake as a concept gap, calculation error or time issue, and work on the most frequent type first.
• Be careful with negative marking: Attempt the questions you are confident about first, and use mock tests to check your accuracy on uncertain questions.
• Solve previous year papers: Previous papers help in understanding the question style and difficulty level, but questions are not guaranteed to repeat.

Preparing for JEE Main along with TJEE: Many PCM students also sit JEE Main 2027. Both exams test Class 11 and 12 Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics, so most of the preparation overlaps.
