The MBA in Hotel Management is a two-year postgraduate course that provides advanced managerial skills and industry-specific knowledge essential for leadership roles in the hospitality sector. The program combines general management concepts with specialized hospitality courses to expose students to overall hotel operations, food and beverage operations, accommodation services, tourism, and customer relationship techniques.

 

Over four semesters, the students are exposed to a mix of theoretical classes, practice training, and project work. Principles of Management, Financial Management, Marketing, Strategic Planning, and Hospitality Law are supplemented by practice modules in Food Production, Accommodation Management, and Information Systems. Soft skills, language skills, and industry exposure are also included through workshops, internships, and a final research project.

Here is the exam scheme for the MBA in Hotel Management, followed by Periyar University. The exam scheme is the same for all the semesters. Each semester will have an internal assessment of 25 marks and an external assessment of 75 marks.
